10 Best Phones With Dual SIM Dual VoLTE Support That You Can Buy In 2020

Many consumers use Reliance Jio SIM card as a secondary number. Since the Jio SIM works only on 4G VoLTE networks, it naturally becomes inactive if you use any other SIM card in your phone as the ‘preferred network’ for data. This is a problem because, with the burgeoning competition, all Telecom Service Providers are dolling out lucrative data offers, and to have more 4G data never hurt anybody. (हिंदी में पढ़िए)

To address this challenge, all major chipset makers including MediaTek, Qualcomm, Exynos and even Spredtrum have been working on Dual SIM dual VoLTE support.

It must be noted that there are several dual VoLTE phones that support 4G VoLTE on both SIM slots but only on one at a time. Dual SIM dual VoLTE (DSDV) phones can keep two 4G or 4G VoLTE SIM cards active in your phone (in Standby configuration, not Active) simultaneously.

We have fast transitioned into the Dual SIM Dual VoLTE world, and all chipsets from recognized brands launched in the last year have Dual SIM Dual VoLTE support. Consequently, almost all relevant phones available for purchase are expected to have dual SIM Dual VoLTE support. For now, this is a complete list that should help:

  1. Hi there,

Thanks for this useful post. It is really painful to switch the data each time to receive calls or OTP sms from jio if we use redmi note 5 phone. I updated MIUI 11 but there is no luck. It looks like chipset is not compatible for dual sim dual volte. Your post really educate the readers. I appreciate your effort to compile all this list. Please keep up good work.

    Regards,
    Mohamed.

  2. Please enlighten me about the concept of DSDV. I see that some mobiles are listed as Dual Volte in 91 mobiles and some others are listed as just Dual SIM and Volte option is checked under specs. For example, Realme 5 Pro is not listed when I filter results with the Dual Volte option checked. But you have mentioned in the comments column that it supports Dual Volte. One more question I have is ‘Does this Dual Volte feature is related to the processor or the mobile phone manufacturer? I read on the Qualcomm website that Snapdragon 712 supports Dual Volte. Does it mean by default that all phones that have Snapdragon 712 support Dual Volte? I have an Airtel SIM and Jio SIM. I need both SIMs to be active with a full signal when I keep the data preference on Airtel SIM. Please clarify how to ensure this to avoid surprises after mobile purchases.

    • Hi
Chipset support is important. Manufacturers are not ignoring DSDV anymore, most (perhaps all) phones launched in 2019 support DSDV. Realme 5 Pro does. Both SIM cards will be active on DSDV phones, you need not worry.

  3. I do not know if it’s just me or if perhaps everyone else experiencing issues with your website.
It appears as if some of the text on your content are running off the screen. Can somebody else please provide feedback and
let me know if this is happening to them too? This could be a issue with my browser because I’ve had this happen before.
    Thank you

  4. I personally not like cheap manufacturer earlier because of bad quality products. I generally trust bigger brands like Sony Samsung. But after purchasing xiaomi phone my whole perception for xiaomi changed. Till now I haven’t faced any serious problem in What i do not understood is actually how you are not actually much more well-liked than you might be now. You’re very intelligent. You realize therefore significantly relating to this subject, made me personally consider it from so many varied angles. Its like women and men aren’t fascinated unless it’s one thing to do with Lady gaga! Your own stuffs excellent. Always maintain it up!

    • Hi ,

I using Realme 2 pro for two weeks now, Good to use.
Its only DSDV (dual Sim dual Volte) not Dual Active 4G.

      Just for my informtaion ,
Could you please Clraify what are the advatages of Dual Active 4G over DSDV ?
Agree we can attend calls both sim on Same time.
      Is any other advantages ?

  5. A nice article, well summed up and well written. But the list is not up to date. The latest mobile to support dual VOLTE is MI A2. Considering its price, its a terrific mobile and I think it deserves a mention here.

  6. Does Huawei P20 Lite support dual LTE? Some say it does not and others say it does after updates. Some others say P20 Pro supports dual LTE and not P20 Lite. Can you please confirm if P20 Lite supports dual LTE? Thanks.

  7. Dear sir
Samsung note 9 is also supporting dual sim dual volte by unboxing .
Samsung A8+ also support dual sim dual volte aftre 8.1 or 8.0 update.
But i want to know that when A8star support dual sim dual volte …

  8. Ivoomi i2 mobile is showing as dual active 4g volte in specifications. Is it true or it just acts as active in only standby mode..Once check that mobile features and do clarify our doubt about the dual 4g volte and dual active feature concept.

  9. It’s happy to know that the latest mobiles support dual 4g volte in both sim slots. But are they dual active also.Dual active means not only in standby mode but also during calls or using data or while talking on one sim and getting a call from the other sim simultaneously. Are both the Sims network active while using.

  10. Is there any phone currently in market which support DSDV both active at all time, ie although i get call on VOLTE SIM1 i must get call waiting of second VOLTE No of SIM2. i am aware about DSDV concept & currently using ASUS zenphone max pro M1

    • To do so, just forward calls of one SIM on another (for both; SIM cards SIM 1 to SIM 2 and vice versa). Whenever someone calls you on SIM 1 and you are busy using SIM 2, you will get call waiting prompt. This will work for both SIM cards.

  11. Redmi Note 5 pro does NOT support dual 4G volt

    =====================================
    Dual SIM usage:
When two SIM cards are used simultaneously, the primary SIM supports
4G+/4G/3G/2G calling and data while the secondary SIM supports only 3G calls.
    =====================================

Please remove Redmi Note 5 Pro from the list.

  12. Techno camon iclick ye smartphone bhi dual 4g Volte sim support karata hai… Plz review bataye sir…. Aur links bhi Dena sir… Aap links jarur dena ji….

  13. I personally like Huawei’s P20 Pro:World’s First Smart Phone With 3 Rear Cameras.
It has Face unlock which uses uses 2-D mapping to authenticate users in a blink.Really like this.

  14. IN these phones: – 1. Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1
    2. OnePlus 6
    3. Vivo X21
    4. Samsung Galaxy S9/ S9+
    5. Nokia 7 Plus
    6. Oppo F7
    7. Huawei P20 Pro
    8. Realme 1
    9. Honor 10 / Honor View 10
    10. Redmi Note 5 Pro

In the above mobile phones, if in SIM slot1- Airtel 4G SIM is present and in SIM slot 2 – JIO 4G LTE SIM is there, then what will happen if I am on call on Airtel 4G SIM, Can we receive the call on JIO SIM???? If not then Why?
caseI. AIRTEL 4G DATA ACTIVE, Can we receive the call on JIO SIM?
CaseII. AIRTEL 4G VOICE ACTIVE, Can we receive the call on JIO SIM?

    • Case 1 – yes, Case 2 – Yes.
If your phone is lying idle, no matter what SIM is selected for data, both SIM will be able to receive or make calls. However, when you are attending a call from any one of the SIM, the other will go “not reachable”.

  15. If in SIM slot1- Airtel 4G SIM is present and in SIM slot 2 – JIO 4G LTE SIM is there, then what will happen if I am on call on Airtel 4G SIM, Can we receive the call on JIO SIM???? If not then Why?
caseI. AIRTEL 4G DATA ACTIVE, Can we receive the call on JIO SIM?
CaseII. AIRTEL 4G VOICE ACTIVE, Can we receive the call on JIO SIM?

  17. Nokia 7 plus, Ivoomi i2 and Techno camon i ye tino smartphone bhi dual 4g Volte sim support karata hai… Plz review bataye sir…. Aur list me add kare sir… And reply reviews plz….

    • Yeah, that could’ve been clarified in the article itself but for “some reason”, haven’t been: What Mr Deepak said.

It’s still dual-SIM dual-standby as the uszhe, the only difference is that receivers of both slots can function with 4G. The one which already can, were stopped getting manufactured after 2014 (latest of which supported 4G+3G at best; per him) due to the shared-interest of “First World” telcos and smartphone brands to sell as much devices as they can.

  18. Hey there, Mr Deepak — we couldn’t thank you enough for this article (which was obviously found through “Googling”) as it helped a lot. Particularly our breadwinner, my father who strives to have everything Better (if not “Best”) for himself and was hugely upset by the corporate-greed that prevented the “Dual SIM Dual Active” phones to be introduced anywhere after 2014 (the most-advanced ones were 4G+3G, one of which I owned myself). Since he uses 2 LTE® connections and ever since his desire to have a phone which could support a choiceless VoLTE™ operator’s signal (let alone other disadvantages such as comparably-narrowed signal footprint), both of the connections from different operators have upgraded to VoLTE™ here. But since I’m a techie and thus he’s “forced” to rely on me (😉), I find this article significantly disappointing. Here’s why [and indicative-suggestions from improvement]:

    A) The article is a “Best/Top 9” listicle rather doing the job of that crucial aspect (i.e. simultaneous reception to 2 distinct LTE® signals) by listing every single cellular-gizmo which supports “dual SIM dual VoLTE” given it’s a mostly recent phenomenon where device-manufacturers have FINALLY started bending over their greed to listen to consumer’s demands. Had this been a widespread phenomenon, I could’ve understood the absurdity/difficulty to maintain such a list but given it’s only a start. But your apt SEO skills only shows this page which is relevant for the keyword “dual SIM dual active 4G” and the likes among the topmost results. It’s not unfair to expect something better. Disagree?
    B) As already indicated, the commercial term “dual SIM dual active” is popular enough among techies to qualify for a proper definition yet you fell for a latest, recently-coined term without even bothering to make a distinction. Then why mention it at all? Is that too-much to ask for?

Awaiting your sincere reply and intimation of ground-action on the same à la non-corporate.

    • Thanks for your feedback Maaz. The title has to be something most people will look up. At the time of writing we can’t be sure how popular the article will be. Secondly, most of these (or all) are still Dual SIM Dual Standby phones. They don’t make Dual SIM Dual active phones any more. Both SIM slots support 4G at a time. But when you are attending call on 1 SIM the other gets inactive. In Standby both are active.
I hope that answers your questions. If not, please leave a follow-up comment and I will get back to you as soon as I can

      • In Standby both are active.

        Errmmm… I assume this is an ironical-speech?? 😉

If so, I understand you were talking’bout “Dual SIM Dual Active” phones there, only.

And if I’m right, then that’s what I expected you to include in the article itself in [my] point B, ‘my friend’. 😌
Since readers have to get to the bottom of the comments [to understand] what’s crucial.

          • Okey-dokey. So rather letting my safe-comment [which pointed-out the root of confusion] be published, you withheld it in lieu of admitting your trivial mistake whilst acting transparent on that error.

‘Nyways: Your Blog. Your whim. 😊°

    • @Maaz Kalim Your obviously a very bad Techie. The article is about “Dual SIM Dual VoLTE Support” ….Not about dual sim active Volte support. There is a huge difference between standby and active. Please read and update your knowledge.
