One of the biggest announcements at the India Mobile Congress (IMC) 2024 was the reveal of Xiaomi’s affordable 5G smartphone. The company showcased the device, which will debut as the Redmi A4 5G, featuring the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 4s Gen 2 SoC.

Now, Xiaomi is gearing up to launch the smartphone globally, starting with India on November 20th. Xiaomi India is promoting the launch with the phrase “India Karega 5G,” hinting at the phone’s affordability.

Last month, we broke the news regarding the pricing, with our sources hinting at a starting price of Rs 8,499. This competitive pricing could put the Redmi A4 5G in the hands of many, should Xiaomi stick to it.

As for the specifications, the Redmi A4 is said to sport a large 6.88-inch display with an HD+ resolution and a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. It will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 4s Gen 2 SoC, paired with 4GB or 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.

The phone will include a 50MP main camera with an f/1.8 aperture and an 8MP front-facing camera. It will run Android 14 out of the box, alongside the new HyperOS 1.0 skin. Furthermore, it will pack a 5,160mAh battery with 18W fast charging, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, and a USB Type-C port.
