Warzone Mobile just announced major updates for Season 1, including features like Omnimovement and connected content. But this update comes with a major catch—the game’s minimum requirements are being updated, which will restrict access for old and even some surprisingly recent devices.
Starting November 14, 2024, Warzone Mobile will only be available to users with iOS 17 or Android 13 on a device with a GPU capable of bindless texturing. Older devices will still be able to play the older version for about 6 months.
What Does This Mean for Players?
Essentially, to keep playing the latest version of Warzone Mobile, your device must meet these new specs. So, if you have one of those devices that doesn’t meet the requirements, you can still play version 3.10 for about six months—if you install it by November 14.
After that, only compatible devices will get updates, and any new installs will be limited to supported devices. Warzone Mobile has added a bonus for affected players: exclusive rewards in Call of Duty: Mobile, as a way to “thank the community members” who can’t continue with the game on their current devices.

Which Devices Are Left Out?
The new requirements surprisingly leave out a lot of devices, some even barely two years old. Even dedicated gaming phones, like the Nubia RedMagic 7 Pro and Lenovo Legion Y70, won’t meet the specs despite being powered by the relatively recent Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1.
The unsupported device list also includes the latest 8 Gen 3-powered Polestar phone, so there’s no guarantee even newer models are safe. Here’s a rundown of the GPUs that are no longer compatible:
- Mali GPUs: G76 MC4, G52 MC2, G72, G72 MP3, G71, G51
- Adreno GPUs: 610, 613, 616, 612, 615
The detailed list is quite confusing since there are several devices with the supported GPUs on the list. For example, the Lenovo Y70, with the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, is on the incompatible devices list while other devices with the same chip are not. So, even if you have a compatible GPU, you might have to check the detailed list to make sure.
The detailed list is very poorly organized. It was a pain to go through all the devices since many don’t use the commercial names—just the codename. The list is also unsorted, which is another pain. Thankfully, you can search the devices if you have the codename/model name or something.
It’s so puzzling because some iOS devices, which are less powerful than Android devices, are compatible, but the Android devices are not. So this list is very specific, and even though they’ve said it’s based on GPUs, it doesn’t seem like it actually is. The entire list is completely different—some devices with supported GPUs aren’t even on the compatible list, even if they meet the requirements.

Why This Decision Matters
Warzone Mobile’s decision to cut off access for such recent devices isn’t sitting well with everyone. In a world where frequent upgrades aren’t realistic for most, restricting the game to newer models risks losing part of the player base.
Many fans feel that if this restriction applied only to devices from 4-5 years ago, it would be more understandable. But this sudden push toward more powerful specs on newer devices has left many fans wondering if they’ll be forced out of the game sooner than expected.
Sure, this should help with optimization of the game since, let’s be honest, Warzone Mobile did not run well on those low-end devices. Restricting the game to only the latest devices means there will be less devices to optimize the game for. This will lead to the game being better optimized for the remaining supported devices.
