OPPO has started rolling out its August 2026 ColorOS 16 update, bringing a stack of smaller additions and improvements across the Home Screen, Notes, Photos, Widgets and Phone Manager. The update is rolling out in phases throughout August, with OPPO listing 15 compatible devices for this rollout. Let’s take a look at everything new with this update.

Doodle on Images arrives in Notes

The most immediately useful addition is native markup support inside the Notes app. You can finally draw, highlight and annotate directly on top of images. It’s a handy addition for quickly marking up screenshots, photos and other images without leaving Notes.

Clearing badges is finally less annoying

A 2-finger pinch on the Home Screen now clears all app notification badges at once. OPPO describes the gesture as a way to sweep away all notification badges and clean up the Home Screen in one go.

Currency Converter widgets show up on the Home Screen

The August update adds new 2×2 and 4×2 Currency Converter widgets for the Home Screen, giving users a way to check real-time currency conversion rates at a glance. The feature should be particularly useful for people who regularly deal with multiple currencies, especially travelers.

AI Remix Collage joins the Photos toolkit

AI Remix Collage adds another creative option to the Photos experience. OPPO says the feature can create custom sticker sets, blend memories and curate unique mood boards in seconds. It gives users a way to combine their photos into more customized visual creations directly within the system’s existing photo tools.

Phone Manager gets smarter about suspicious apps

Phone Manager gets an update focused on detecting and intercepting suspicious app activities. OPPO says it can instantly detect and intercept suspicious app activity to help stop hacking traps and stealthy spying.

The update also adds a few other Phone Manager improvements. Users can customize the frequently used tools shown on the Phone Manager Home Screen for easier access, while the Storage cleanup page now organizes content into categories for easier navigation.

OPPO has also changed how hidden apps can be accessed while using them. When inside a hidden app, users can swipe up from the bottom of the screen toward the floating-window area in the upper-right corner to switch it to a floating window.
