Upcoming Smartphone Launches In May 2026

Vivo X300 Ultra

  • Release Date: May 6, 2026 (Confirmed)

The Chinese smartphone manufacturer vivo is kicking off May with one of its most ambitious and feature-loaded flagships yet. The X300 Ultra arrives in India on May 6, 2026, and goes straight after the premium camera phone segment, which includes the Pixel 10 Pro XL, the S26 Ultra, and the Oppo counterpart.

The main selling point of the smartphone is its camera setup, which includes a 200MP primary sensor with a 200MP periscope telephoto lens and a 50MP ultrawide camera. The phone can also record 4K videos at 120 fps, along with Dolby Vision and 10-bit log recording.

Under the hood, the smartphone will run on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, which is paired with a 6,000 mAh battery (100W wired and 40W wireless charging), comes with five years of major operating system updates, and will be available in two colors: Eclipse Black and Victory Green. The pricing could be around Rs. 1.30 lakhs (in-pocket).

Vivo X300 FE

  • Release Date: May 6, 2026 (Confirmed)

Alongside the X300 Ultra, Vivo is also launching the X300 FE, an attempt to bring a flagship-adjacent camera performance to a slightly more affordable price point. The camera system consists of a 50MP IMX921 primary camera, another 50MP Sony IMX882 telephoto lens (3x optical lens, 100x digital zoom), and an 8MP ultrawide camera.

On the front, the phone could get a 50MP selfie shooter. You’ll also get a couple of camera-related upgrades, including Zeiss portrait modes, adaptive zoom flash, and street photography mode.

Even other specifications look promising, right from the design-related details (7.99 mm thickness and 191 grams weight), the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chip, and a 6,500 mAh battery (with 90W wired and 40W wireless charging). The phone could launch with a price tag of Rs. 70,000.

OnePlus Nord CE 6

  • Release Date: May 7, 2026; Sale begins May 8

After skipping the Nord CE 5 series, the company is coming back with the Nord CE 6 series, with two phones no less. The Nord CE 6, being the more expensive one, will come with an 8,000 mAh battery (with support for fast wired charging), which would be its strongest selling point.

Other specs could include the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chipset, a 1.5K AMOLED screen with a 144Hz refresh rate panel, a 50MP primary rear camera, and a 32MP front camera. With multiple IP ratings and military-grade durability, the phone should appeal to a wider, mid-range audience, around an introductory price of Rs. 25,000 to Rs. 30,000.

OnePlus Nord CE 6 Lite

  • Release Date: May 7, 2026; Sale begins May 12

Although OnePlus would launch the Nord CE 6 with the Nord CE 6 Lite, it would give the former a breather of around four to five days before releasing the latter in the market. The CE 6 Lite is powered by the Dimensity 7400 Apex chipset, which could feature a 7,000 mAh battery, which is still quite massive for a phone of its budget, and feature a 50MP primary camera.

Although the company hasn’t announced the pricing for this one, the CE 6 Lite could cost between Rs. 20,000 and Rs. 25,000, sitting right below the CE 6. Stay tuned for a detailed review of both the Nord CE 6 series smartphones, as both of them are among the strongest contenders in their segment.

Oppo Find X9 Ultra

  • Release Date: May 2026 — Exact date TBA (Confirmed)

Rivalling the Vivo X300 Ultra would be the Oppo Find X9 Ultra in the same segment and around the same price point, with only one agenda: being the best camera phone Oppo has ever released. The headline act is the Hasselblad Master Camera System, which is powered by the company’s LUMO Image Engine.

The quad camera setup is extraordinary on paper: two 200MP sensors and two 50MP lenses, including a 50MP 10x optical telephoto camera for serious long-range photography. Other specifications include a 6.82-inch LTPO AMOLED screen, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, and a 7,050 mAh battery that supports 100W wired and 50W wireless charging.

The phone could also cost around Rs. 1.30 lakhs in India. The exact launch date, however, isn’t confirmed yet.

Oppo Find X9s

  • Release Date: May 2026 — Exact date TBA (Confirmed)

With the Find X9 Ultra, Oppo will also unveil the Find X9s, which, frankly, would be a direct competitor to the Vivo X300 FE. The handset could feature the Dimensity 9500s chipset, a 6.59-inch AMOLED screen, and a triple 50MP camera configuration across the main, ultrawide, and telephoto focal lengths.

The battery on the handset could be a 7,025 mAh battery unit that supports 80W fast charging. Like its Ultra sibling, the handset could benefit from the company’s Hasselblad partnership and LUMO Image Engine. While the pricing isn’t official yet, expect the phone to cost around Rs. 60,000 to Rs. 70,000 in India.
