If I were to summarize the upcoming smartphone launches in India in August 2026, it goes premium at the top and battery-focused at the bottom. Google’s Pixel 11 series is the undisputed headline launch of the month, arriving alongside a wave of confirmed mid-rangers from Poco, Samsung, and OnePlus. So, without any further ado, let’s dive right into it.

Upcoming Smartphone Launches In India (August 2026): Confirmed Models
Google Pixel 11 Series
- Launch Date: August 12, 2026 | Made by Google event (India and globally); pre-orders begin the same day
Tech Specs (Rumored)
- Lineup: Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, Pixel 11 Pro XL, Pixel 11 Pro Fold
- Chipset: Tensor G6, built on a 2nm process across all four models
- Storage: 256GB base across the lineup; 128GB tier dropped entirely
- Display: Pixel 11 Pro – 6.3-inch, 1280×2856; Pixel 11 Pro XL – 6.8-inch, 1344×2992; Pro Fold – 8-inch inner + 6.5-inch cover
- Cameras: Pro models – 50MP+48MP+48MP rear, 42MP front; Pro Fold – 48MP+10.5MP+10.8MP rear, 13MP on both screens
- Battery: Pro – 4,850mAh; Pro XL – 5,115mAh; Pro Fold – 4,750mAh
- New: ‘Pixel Glow’ LED array on the camera bar for notification lighting; deeper Gemini AI integration
- Expected price: Starting ~$899 (Pixel 11) up to ~$1,899 (Pro Fold); India base price expected around ₹90,000

The Pixel 11 series is Google’s most confident flagship push yet, but it comes with a real cost. While most of the specifications could remain, I’m most excited (and nervous) about the Tensor G6 chipset, which, according to rumors, is said to feature TSMC’s 2nm fabrication technology.
After Samsung, it could be Google that embraces the more efficient and advanced fabrication technology before Apple comes out with its own 2nm chipsets in September 2026. Another major consensus on the internet is that the Pixel 11 series could come with a serious price hike.
And yes, it looks like the Pixel Glow feature could actually arrive alongside the series, though I’m keeping my fingers crossed until it does.
Poco M8 Power 5G
- Launch Date: August 4, 2026, 12 PM IST | Flipkart, India
Tech Specs (Rumored)
- Chipset: Snapdragon 4 Gen 4
- Display: 7-inch AMOLED, 120Hz, up to 1,800 nits (rumored)
- Battery: 8,000mAh (brand-confirmed) + 45W wired charging
- Camera: 50MP primary rear (brand-confirmed); 8MP front (rumored)
- Colors: Orange (teased)
- Note: Widely believed to be a rebadge of the Redmi Note 17 5G, which already launched in China on July 14
- Expected price: Under ₹20,000

Poco has confirmed the essentials through its microsite, so there’s little guesswork left here for the Poco M8 Power. An 8,000mAh cell in a phone this size is the whole pitch. I’m grateful that the company has paired the battery with an AMOLED screen instead of an LCD. From what’s going on in the market, the battery and the display are perhaps the only two components that aren’t out of reach (from a bill of materials perspective).
We already know about the phone’s design. The orange color surely pops out. However, we’d reserve our verdict for the detailed review.

OnePlus N6x
- Launch Date: Launched July 31, 2026; on sale in India from August 1 | Flipkart, OnePlus India
Tech Specs (Rumored)
- Battery: 7,000mAh (brand-confirmed), a step down from the N6’s 8,000mAh
- Cooling: OnePlus claims the segment’s largest VC (vapor chamber) cooling system
- Durability: MIL-STD-810H certified
- Display: 6.67-inch HD+ LCD, 120Hz (rumored)
- AI features: AI Unblur, AI Portrait Glow, AI Eraser
- Colors: Burgundy Red, Ice Blue
- Camera: Reported anywhere from 13MP to 50MP rear depending on the leak; unconfirmed
- Starting Price: ₹18,999

The N6x technically launched a day before this feature’s coverage window, but since retail units only reach shelves from August 1, I’ve included this one in the list as well. The spec sheet looks fairly standard for the price. Factoring in the recent price hikes, which have become the new standard across the smartphone market, the N6x looks like a decent pick.
However, what I don’t like is the brand’s decision to pair the Dimensity 6300 chipset with 4GB of RAM. It could eventually lead to multitasking bottlenecks on the phone, something that could show up every time the user opens up five to eight apps at once. Anyway, the good thing is OnePlus’s claim about VC cooling, an unusual flex for a phone sitting well under ₹20,000.

Samsung Galaxy F70 Pro 5G
- Launch Date: August 3, 2026 | Flipkart, Samsung India
Tech Specs (Rumored)
- Display: 6.7-inch FHD+ sAMOLED, 120Hz, Gorilla Glass Victus+ (front and back)
- Chipset: Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 (widely reported, not yet spec-sheet confirmed)
- RAM/Storage: Up to 8GB LPDDR5X / up to 256GB UFS 3.1 (expandable)
- Cameras: 50MP (f/1.8, OIS) + 5MP ultrawide + 2MP macro rear; 12MP front
- Battery: 6,000mAh + 45W fast charging
- Software: One UI 8.5 (Android 16); up to 6 years of OS and security updates
- Colors: Alpha Black, Aura Green
- Price: ₹25,999 (6GB/128GB), ₹29,999 (8GB/128GB), ₹34,999 (8GB/256GB)

Samsung has already revealed full pricing for the Galaxy F70 Pro 5G ahead of launch, which tells me the company is confident about this one. Six years of software support at under ₹35,000 remains the F-series’ single strongest argument, and it’s one that most rivals in this bracket still can’t match on paper.
Even otherwise, the specs sheet looks quite great with a Super AMOLED panel, Snapdragon chipset, a 50MP primary camera with OIS, and a relatively larger but still not as big as other phones in the competition battery. Given the pricing, ₹25,999 for the baseline variant, paired with introductory offers, this could be an easy recommendation.

Redmi Note 17 5G
- Expected Launch: August 6, 2026 (already launched in China on July 14)
Tech Specs (Rumored)
- Chipset: Snapdragon 4 Gen 4
- Display: 7-inch FHD+ OLED, 120Hz, 1,800 nits peak, 3840Hz PWM dimming
- Camera: 50MP f/1.8 primary rear (single camera); 8MP front
- Battery: 8,000mAh + 45W wired, 22.5W reverse wired charging
- Durability: IP65
- China price: CNY 1,299 (~₹18,400)

This is very likely the phone hiding underneath the Poco M8 Power’s badge, which makes the two launches worth watching side by side. The Redmi Note 17 5G’s price is what I’m most interested in, given that the phone already shares its specifications with the Poco M8 Power we’ve already mentioned in this list.

Upcoming Smartphone Launches In India (August 2026): Rumored Models
Vivo S2
- Expected Launch: August 2026
Tech Specs (Rumored)
- Chipset: MediaTek Dimensity 7360
- Display: 6.59-inch AMOLED, 1.5K resolution, 120Hz
- Cameras: 50MP OIS primary + 8MP ultrawide rear; 32MP front
- Battery: 7,000mAh + 80W fast charging (one source cites 44W; majority point to 80W)
- Colors: Sapphire Blue, Regal Bronze, Silk White
- Expected price: ₹38,000–45,000

Moving on to the rumored territory, we have the vivo S2 to begin the list. We’ve covered the phone several times over the last few days, mentioning how the brand could launch it in August. Judging from the expected specifications, the phone could debut at a launch price of around ₹40,000.
Vivo V80 Series
- Expected Launch: Mid-to-late August 2026
Tech Specs (Rumored)
- Chipset: Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 (carried over from the V70)
- Display: 6.59-inch flat AMOLED, 1.5K, 144Hz, up to 5,000 nits peak brightness
- Cameras: 50MP primary + 50MP Zeiss-tuned periscope telephoto (3x) + 8MP ultrawide rear; 50MP front
- Battery: 7,200mAh + 90W fast charging
- Durability: IP68/IP69, aluminum alloy frame, 3D ultrasonic fingerprint
- Expected price: ~₹61,999

This is expected to be a rebrand of China’s Vivo S60. The price jump from the V70’s ₹45,999 launch to the rumored new price of ₹61,999 is steep for what’s still an incremental hardware refresh. The Zeiss periscope telephoto is the genuine upgrade worth caring about here.

iQOO Z11
- Expected Launch: Mid-to-late August 2026
Tech Specs (Rumored)
- Chipset: MediaTek Dimensity 7500 (India-specific; the Chinese variant uses Dimensity 8500)
- Display: 6.83-inch curved 3D AMOLED, 144Hz
- Battery: 9,020mAh + 90W fast charging
- Durability: IP68/IP69
- Cameras: 50MP primary + auxiliary lens rear; 32MP front
- Expected price: Under ₹30,000

iQOO swapping in a different chipset for India than the Chinese version already tells its own story. This is a battery-first phone built for a price-sensitive market, and a 9,020mAh cell at under ₹30,000 is hard to overlook regardless of what’s powering it.
Infinix Hot 70 Pro
- Expected Launch: August 2026 (no confirmed date)
Tech Specs (Rumored)
- Chipset: MediaTek Dimensity 7100
- Display: 6.76-inch HD+ IPS LCD, 144Hz, up to 950 nits (HBM)
- Camera: 50MP Sony IMX882 primary rear; 8MP front
- Battery: 6,000mAh + 45W charging
- Durability: IP68
- Unique: Small rear dot-matrix display for notifications and battery status
- Expected price: ₹15,000–25,000 (estimates vary)
The rear dot-matrix panel is a genuinely unusual addition for a phone in this price bracket, and it’s the kind of feature that could be either a gimmick or a real differentiator, depending entirely on how well Infinix implements it.
