Nothing appears to be preparing for its biggest strategic shift yet. According to information shared with us by a seasoned industry insider with a credible track record, the London-based consumer tech brand is gradually repositioning itself as an AI-first company, with a fresh lineup of audio and wearable products leading the transition.

The shift won’t happen overnight. Instead, our source says the company has planned a phased rollout, with the first stage expected to begin in September.

AI Takes Centre Stage

While Nothing built its reputation through smartphones, AI is now becoming a much bigger priority internally. According to our source, the company is increasingly focusing its resources on AI-powered products as the smartphone market becomes more competitive and profit margins continue to shrink.

The strategy is said to have strong backing from Nothing co-founder Carl Pei, who sees AI devices as the company’s next major growth opportunity. In fact, our source claims these AI initiatives now command greater internal priority than the brand’s traditional smartphone roadmap.

New Audio and Wearable Products Incoming

As part of the first phase, Nothing is preparing to launch a range of AI-enabled products across both its Nothing and CMF sub-brands.

According to our source, the upcoming portfolio includes:

  • CMF Ear Clip Buds
  • Nothing Headphones (Gen 2)
  • Nothing Smartwatch
  • CMF Speakers

Some of these products represent entirely new categories for the company. The Speakers, for example, would mark Nothing’s entry into the smart speaker segment.

Despite the expansion, our source says the products will continue to follow the company’s signature transparent-inspired design language and distinctive industrial design that has become synonymous with the brand.

Launch Expected Before Apple’s Big Event

Our source tells us that Nothing is targeting the August-September window for the first batch of launches. The timing would place the announcements just ahead of Apple’s annual iPhone launch event, traditionally held in September.

As with all early product roadmaps, plans can change before launch. However, if our source’s information proves accurate, the coming months could mark the start of a significant new chapter for Nothing.
