TL; DR
  • Xiaomi has confirmed the Redmi Note 17 will launch in India on August 6, 2026.
  • The company has officially teased an 8,000 mAh battery under the “mAhster Edition” branding.
  • The phone will be available via Amazon, with two color options shown in the teaser.

Xiaomi has confirmed that the Redmi Note 17 will launch in India on August 6, 2026. A dedicated Amazon microsite is now live, confirming the launch date and revealing the first official look at the smartphone.

The teaser puts the spotlight on the phone’s battery, branding it as the “Redmi Note 17 mAhster Edition.” Xiaomi has confirmed that the device packs an 8,000 mAh battery, making it one of the largest batteries in a Redmi smartphone. The microsite also showcases the phone in two color options, which look like purple and blue. No other specifications have been officially confirmed.

Redmi Note 17 Expected Specifications

Based on previous reports, the Indian Redmi Note 17 is expected to carry over the specifications of the model that debuted in China earlier this month.

If that happens, the phone will feature a 7-inch OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and 2396 x 1080 resolution, powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 chipset. It is also expected to include a 50MP rear camera, an 8MP front camera, an 8,000 mAh battery with 45W wired charging, and HyperOS 3 based on Android 16. The base variant is tipped to offer 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.

The Chinese variant is also eligible for four Android OS upgrades and five years of security updates, and the Indian model is expected to follow the same software policy.

Expected Price

Xiaomi has not announced the Indian pricing yet. However, previous reports suggest the 6GB + 128GB variant could be priced at over ₹30,000. The company has also not confirmed whether the Redmi Note 17 Pro will launch alongside the standard model.

More details, including pricing, memory variants, and availability, are expected to be announced at the launch event on August 6.
