TL; DR
  • Redmi Note 17 launches in India at ₹27,999 for 6GB+128GB and ₹30,999 for 8GB+128GB, dropping to ₹24,999 and ₹27,999 with bank offers.
  • It packs an 8,000mAh battery, running on a Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 chipset, a tier below the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 in the Redmi Note 15.

Xiaomi has launched the Redmi Note 17 in India, sold under the “mAhster Edition” tagline built around its 8,000 mAh battery. The phone replaces the Redmi Note 15 directly; Xiaomi has skipped the Note 16 name entirely, matching its naming jump in China.

Redmi Note 17 Pricing and Offers

The 6GB + 128GB variant costs ₹27,999, dropping to ₹24,999 with the bank offer, while the 8GB + 128GB variant is priced at ₹30,999, or ₹27,999 with the offer applied. The bank offer gives a ₹3,000 instant discount on SBI Card, Axis Bank and Kotak transactions.

Xiaomi is also bundling Jio’s 50GB cloud storage with Pro Google Gemini, three months of YouTube Premium Lite and six months of Google One’s 200GB plan. Sale begins August 12 on mi.com, Amazon and Xiaomi Retail stores, in Dark Night, Arctic Blue and Starlight Purple.

Redmi Note 17 Specifications

The Redmi Note 17 gets a 7-inch OLED display with Full HD+ (2396 x 1080) resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, 1,800 nits peak brightness, Corning Gorilla Glass 7i protection and TÜV Rheinland Eye Care certification. It runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 (4nm), paired with up to 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage. The rear camera is a 50MP sensor at f/1.8, with an 8MP f/2.0 front camera for selfies and video calls.

The 8,000 mAh battery supports 45W wired charging and 22.5W reverse wired charging. Software is HyperOS 3 on Android 16, backed by 4 Android OS updates and 5 years of security patches. The phone carries an IP65 rating, an in-display fingerprint scanner, NFC, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.1 and an IR blaster, and supports Gemini and Circle to Search.

The Redmi Note 15 launched in January at ₹22,999 with a Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chipset and a 5,520 mAh battery. The Note 17 trades that chipset down a tier and cuts the RAM/storage standard to LPDDR4X and UFS 2.2 to fund a battery nearly 2,500mAh larger, at a ₹5,000 higher starting price.
