The era of oversized phones seems to be slowing down. After years of making bigger and bigger displays, phone makers are starting to see the value in compact flagships again. The vivo X300 FE is a clear sign of this shift. Launching globally and in India on May 6, 2026, at 12 PM IST, the X300 FE is more than just a smaller version of another model. It aims to combine top-tier performance with the comfort of one-handed use. Building on the success of the X200 FE, vivo is calling this phone a “Compact Creative Wonder,” showing that small phones can now be seen as premium, not a compromise.

Here’s what we know about the vivo X300 FE before its official launch.

The 6.31-Inch Correction

The first thing that stands out is the size. With a 6.31-inch (16.04 cm) display, the X300 FE is made for people who use their phones on the go, whether commuting, walking, or multitasking. It’s designed to be easy to use with one hand, unlike many larger phones that need two.

Build: The phone is slim at 7.99mm thick and weighs 191 grams, making it easy to handle.

Aesthetics: The new design features a “plateau” camera module and a matte AG finish. In India, vivo will offer an exclusive Urban Olive color, which is a mossy green, along with Lilac Purple and Noir Black.

Durability: The phone is expected to have an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance, and the screen will be protected by Gorilla Glass 7i or similar Mohs level 4 glass.

Optical Intentionality with ZEISS

Photography is still a main feature, but now the focus is on giving users more options with different focal lengths instead of just more megapixels. The X300 FE has a 50MP ZEISS telephoto camera with the Telephoto Extender Gen 2. Instead of just cropping digitally, it offers a true 3x optical zoom with a 200mm equivalent reach.

The idea is to help users take more thoughtful photos. With the ZEISS Multifocal Portrait system, the phone gives you five different focal lengths, from a wide 23mm for scenery to a close 100mm for portraits. This is a step away from the usual ‘AI blur’ and instead tries to work like classic camera lenses.

AI Creative Camera Suite

vivo also revealed the new AI Creative Camera suite waked right into theis designed ,to give you a ready-to-share photo as soon as you take it. Tools like AI Magic Move, which lets you move subjects, and AI Image Expander, which helps fix your photo’s layout, are part of the standard experience.

Inside, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chip handles all these AI features directly on the phone. This means you get fast performance without delays or overheating.

6,500mAh mAh battery in compact body

With 90W wired charging and 40W wireless charging, this phone could last longer than many bigger models. It shows that in the future, what matters most might not be screen size, but how much battery life you get in a phone that fits in your pocket.
In the past, picking a small phone usually meant giving up battery life. Vivo wants to change that by putting a large 6,500mAh Silicon Carbon battery in the X300 FE. This high-density battery gives you long-lasting power without making the phone bulky.

Charging is also impressive, with support for 90W wired fast charging and 40W wireless charging. This gives the X300 FE an edge over most other compact phones, which often lack wireless charging or have slower charging speeds.
