Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra Review: The Smartest Android, But at What Cost?
#ExpertReview
Samsung’s Galaxy S26 Ultra is no longer trying to be the most overpowered piece of physical hardware in your pocket. It wants to be the smartest. For years, the “Ultra” moniker meant you were buying the absolute bleeding edge of camera sensors, battery tech, and luxury materials. This year, Samsung is flipping the script. At ₹1,39,999, the S26 Ultra trades raw optical dominance and a titanium frame for aggressive software efficiency, a genuinely useful Privacy Display, and AI tools that actually save you time.
But does this software-first strategy justify the massive price tag when competitors are shipping larger batteries and 1-inch camera sensors for less money?
- Agentic AI that can navigate apps for you
- 60W fast charging (0-50% in 15 mins)
- Hardware-level Privacy Display is an ingenious addition
- Improved low-light and portrait photography
- Frustrating macro photography downgrade (minimum focus distances doubled)
Frequently Asked Questions
Does the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra 5G come with a charger in India?
No, the retail box only includes the phone, a USB-C to USB-C cable, and the S Pen. To get the full 60W fast charging speeds, you'll need to buy a compatible Samsung power adapter separately.
How long does the battery last on the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra 5G?
Despite staying at 5000 mAh, the battery life is stellar thanks to the more efficient Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip. Most users are getting around 7 to 8 hours of screen-on time, easily lasting a full day even with heavy use.
What is the new Privacy Display on the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra 5G?
This is a clever hardware-based feature that narrows the viewing angle so people next to you see a dark screen while you see everything clearly. It’s perfect for using banking apps or reading private messages in crowded places like the Delhi Metro.
How much of an upgrade is the camera on the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra 5G?
While the resolution is still 200MP, the main sensor now has a much wider f/1.4 aperture which pulls in way more light for night shots. Video recording also gets a boost with a new 360-degree horizontal lock for super steady footage.
Is the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra 5G good for heavy gaming?
It's a beast for gaming. The custom 'for Galaxy' Snapdragon chip and a redesigned Vapor Chamber cooling system keep things smooth and cool even during long sessions of BGMI or Genshin Impact at max settings.
Does the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra 5G support eSIM in India?
Yes, it fully supports eSIM alongside a physical Nano-SIM slot. You can use two active numbers at once, which is very convenient for managing personal and work connections on the same device.
How many software updates will the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra 5G get?
Samsung is promising 7 years of both Android OS updates and security patches. Since it launches with Android 16, you can expect it to stay current all the way up to 2033, making it a great long-term investment.
What is the difference between S26 Ultra and S25 Ultra?
The S26 Ultra is slimmer at 7.9mm, supports faster 60W charging, and introduces the unique Privacy Display. You also get more RAM on the higher models (16GB) and significantly better low-light camera performance.
Is the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra 5G waterproof?
It has an IP68 rating, meaning it can survive being submerged in up to 1.5 meters of fresh water for 30 minutes. Just keep in mind that this doesn't cover salt water or high-pressure jets, so be careful at the beach.

Bad service center in shivamogga
I have used it from s2 to s22 ultra. But now s22 has automatic update. Then the display is gone. If you ask, we do not know the service center. The charge will be 24000/-. If you want, take it or not, leave it. I have sent a notice to the consumer court.
