After successfully launching the Curvv EV and ICE models, Tata is gearing up to unveil yet another EV. Next year, the Indian automaker could release the Harrier EV, an electric interpretation of the new Harrier ICE version launched in 2024. Harrier EV Launch Timeline (Expected)
Multiple reports, citing Tata Motor’s latest earnings call, say that the Harrier EV will break cover at the end of FY 24-25. Given that the financial year ends in March, it would be fitting to say that the Harrier EV will arrive in India in March 2025.
Following Harrier EV’s launch, the company will begin preparations for the Sierra EV, which could debut in the second half of 2025. As these vehicles hit the Indian roads, the automaker will have one of the largest EV portfolios in the country, selling 10 models across multiple segments.

Harrier EV Exterior Design
We’ve already seen the Harrier EV’s design at auto exhibitions; it follows the same design language that runs on the exterior of the new Harrier ICE (and other models from the company). At the front, you get connected DRLs that run from one edge of the car to the other. Below the DRLs, you get the black grill with the company’s logo. The headlamps are located at the extreme ends of the car; they’re not connected with the DRLs.
On the sides, the vehicle is characterized by the new alloy wheels and a wider stance than the Nexon and Curvv EVs. The rear panel also features a horizontal LED bar that runs edge-to-edge. The front and rear of the vehicle also feature what looks like a revised skid plate for enhanced road presence. Apart from these changes, the upcoming Harrier EV will share a lot of similarities with the Harrier ICE version.

Harrier EV Cabin Design And Features
On the inside, the Harrier EV’s dashboard will be similar to the new Harrier ICE version. We’re talking about a four-spoke steering wheel with multiple controls, a 12.3-inch infotainment screen (with support for wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay), and a digital instrument cluster. Additional features include a panoramic sunroof (on the higher trims), electronic parking brake, 360-degree cameras, and Level 2 ADAS features.
Harrier EV Powertrain (Motor And Battery Capacity)
Most recently, spy shots of the vehicle showed a motor mounted on the rear axle. However, Tata Motors only sells front-wheel-drive cars, both in EV and ICE categories. Other Tata EVs have a front-mounted motor. This indicates that the Harrier EV could be the company’s first all-wheel-drive vehicle. It makes sense that Tata Motors will release both two- and four-wheel-drive options, making the all-wheel configuration available in the higher trims.
Although Tata hasn’t revealed the motor’s specifications, we believe it should be equally or more powerful than the one used in the Tata Curvv EV. For reference, the Curvv EV ships with two battery packs, both with a different motor: the 45 kWh battery pack is mated with a 150 PS/215 Nm motor, while the 55 kWh battery pack is mated with a 167 PS/215 Nm electric motor.

While the variants with the smaller battery offer a claimed range of 502 kilometers, those with the larger battery are rated to provide up to 585 kilometers. Given that the Harrier EV will be more expensive than the Curvv EV, Tata should include a more capable battery pack, especially in the top trims, where the price of the EV could cross the Rs. 30 lakh mark.
Besides two different battery packs, the Harrier EV should also come with a rotary known to switch between multiple terrain modes.
Harrier EV Price (Expected)
Although there’s no solid rumor or leak to go by, we expected the Harrier EV’s baseline trim to be priced around Rs. 20 lakhs. The price of Harrier ICE’s top trim, the Fearless Plus Dark AT, is slightly short of Rs. 30 lakhs. Considering the EV markup, it could go past Rs. 30 lakhs and command a higher price for those who want all the must-have and good-to-have features.
