TL;DR

  • Apparently, the e-scooter will offer two display options: one with a small LCD and another with a bigger TFT screen.
  • Another thing that’s worth pointing out is that the dash display (the one with the bigger screen) shows the range at 100% battery as 104 kilometers.
  • Honda electric scooter will come in three colors: Pearl Jubilee White, Matte Gunpowder Black Metallic, and Premium Silver Metallic.

Honda India has dropped yet another teaser for its upcoming electric scooter. The teaser from the company’s official X (formerly known as Twitter) account gives us a close look at the vehicle’s digital instrument cluster.

Honda’s Electric Activa To Feature 5-Inch And 7-Inch Dash Screens

Apparently, the e-scooter will offer two display options: one with a small LCD and another with a bigger TFT screen. Interestingly, the bigger-screen infotainment unit resembles the globally-available CUV e: scooter, giving us another reason to believe that the two could be the same.

As seen in the video, the dash screen on Honda’s electric scooter will be available in two sizes. The smaller version has a 5-inch screen. In the teaser, the screen shows the scooter’s speed to the left, the battery percentage to the right, trip details at the bottom left, and what looks like drive modes on the top right.

On the other hand, the vehicle also features a 7-inch dash screen, likely on the top trim. The additional screen estate allows for more information about the vehicle’s status, including the time and battery percentage at the top right, the driving modes to the central right (normal and sport), speed in the center, and range to the left. The top left corner of the screen shows the total distance covered, along with the headlight’s status.

The Top Trim Could Offer Up To 104 Kilometers Of Range

Another thing that’s worth pointing out is that the dash display (the one with the bigger screen) shows the range at 100% battery as 104 kilometers. If the Easter egg is anything to go by, the electric scooter has more range than the CUV e:, its global variant, which has a range of around 70 kilometers.

This also implies that the scooter will have a heavier battery (and a reinforced chassis to support the weight). However, what we don’t know is whether the vehicle will ship with a removable battery (like the global unit).

Honda Electric Activa’s Top Trim Could Offer Smartphone Connectivity

Nonetheless, the TFT screen also supports connectivity with the user’s smartphone via Bluetooth (icon visible in the teaser video). Apart from the screen, the electric scooter is also said to have the same motor, headlight/bumper design, dimensions, and overall look and feel as the CUV e.

Honda electric scooter will come in three colors: Pearl Jubilee White, Matte Gunpowder Black Metallic, and Premium Silver Metallic. Given that electric scooters are much more popular than electric cars, and Honda is among the most popular two-wheeler brands in the country, it makes a lot of sense for the company to foray into the market.
