While the electric vehicle comes with two battery options, it comes in seven different models (including the long-range variants). The price, as everyone wants to know, starts from Rs. 17.49 lakh for the baseline Creative (45 kWh) trim and goes all the way up to Rs. 21.99 lakh for the Empowered+ A (55 kWh) trim. Tata Curvv EV: Battery Pack And Range, Explained
As mentioned earlier, the newly launched Curvv EV ships with two battery packs: 45 kWh and 55 kWh. While the former is available in the entry-level Creative and Accomplished variants, the latter is only available in the Accomplished and Empowered variants. The most affordable variant with a 55 kWh battery unit is the Accomplished 55 kWh, which costs Rs. 19.25 lakh (ex-showroom).
Coming to most asked questions on the internet: what would be Tata Curvv EV’s range? Well, the 44 kWh battery unit is MIDC rated for up to 502 kilometers, while the 55 kWh battery unit can last up to 585 kilometers (on one charge). However, the real-world numbers, as also highlighted by Tata, could be different. According to Tata’s C75 standard of testing, the short-range version should cover a distance of 330-350 kilometers, while the long-range variant should be able to go around 400-425 kilometers (on a single charge).
For those catching up, the C75 testing standard considers factors such as air conditioning, speed, traffic, temperature, and other situations that owners might face on a day-to-day basis. Regarding charging, Tata claims that the battery can pack in enough charge to go 150 kilometers in 15 minutes and reach up to 80% in about 40 minutes (when plugged into a 70 kW charger). Last but not least, the Curvv EV supports both vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) and vehicle-to-load (V2L) charging models.
Tata Curvv EV: Powertrain Details
Both the long-range and the short-range variants feature a 123 kW electric motor (mounted on the front axle) that produces 167hp, which produces enough power to reach 100 kmph in 8.6 seconds.
Although Tata didn’t reveal the ICE version of the Curvv, it will be based on the Advanced Tech-Forward Lifestyle Architecture (ATLAS) platform. Further, it will feature three powertrains.

Tata Curvv EV: Exterior And Interior
On the outside, the Curvv EV differentiates itself from other EVs through its coupe SUV design (characterized by the sloping rear roofline). On the front, the vehicle gets a familiar design with connected LED DRLs (similar to the Nexon EV), LED projector headlamps, sequential indicators, and bottom cladding. Talking about the car’s side profile, one would immediately notice the 18-inch alloy wheels, Tesla-like door handles, and heavy side cladding. The rear end of the car features a connected LED taillamp, the model’s badging, and bottom cladding. For those wondering, Curvv EV’s ground clearance is 190mm, and boot space is 500 liters.
On the inside, the Curvv EV features a dual-tone color theme (with white and gray colors). The dashboard is pretty similar to that of the Nexon facelift. For instance, there’s a 12.3-inch floating infotainment system (with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay), a touch-based cluster control system, and trapezoidal AC grills. However, unlike the Nexon, the center console features a drive selector, a gear lever, and a wireless charger. Buyers will also get familiar steering, the one we’ve seen on the upgraded Harrier, and a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster on the top models.
The top-spec models also ship with ventilated six-way adjustable seats (with leatherette upholstery), a two-way rear seat recline, a cooled glove box, and 45W Type-C chargers on the front and the back. Buyers also get connected car tech, along with Arcade.ev suite. For those wondering about the sunroof, some trims come with a panoramic sunroof. They also feature a powered tailgate (with gesture controls) and a 320W 9-speaker JBL sound system.
Tata Curvv EV: Safety Features
Per Tata, the Curvv EV is perfectly capable of getting a five-star rating from Bharat NCAP and Global NCAP. And given that other vehicles of the company have already achieved that benchmark, there’s little to no doubt about Curvv EV’s durability. Crucial safety features include six airbags (standard from the base model), 360-degree parking cameras, front-parking sensors, level 2 ADAS, electronic stability control (ESC), and an electronic parking brake (with auto hold functionality). Additional features include a hill-start and -descent assist, driver drowsiness alerts, a blind-spot monitor, and a water-wading capacity of 450mm.
Tata Curvv EV: Booking And Delivery
Bookings for the Curvv EV will start on August 12, 2024. Although Tata hasn’t committed to a delivery timeline, we’re expecting the vehicle to hit the roads this year.
