TL; DR
  • Tata has officially teased the Sierra EV, confirming a June 30 launch in India.
  • Two battery options of 65kWh and 75kWh are expected, along with AWD availability.
  • The expected price is Rs. 18–25 lakh, rivaling the Mahindra BE 6 and the Hyundai Creta Electric.

Tata Motors has released the first official teaser of the Sierra EV, ahead of its confirmed debut on June 30, 2026, roughly six years after the car was first showcased. It will expand Tata’s EV portfolio, entering as the 7th electrified model, sitting between the Curvv EV and Harrier EV.

Tata Sierra EV: Design

As seen in the teaser, the Sierra EV will feature a closed-off grille and more body-colored elements on the front than the ICE Sierra. This should result in a minimal, more EV-like look. The clamshell bonnet, connected LED DRLs, and vertically-arranged LED fog lamps with cornering lights are all carried over from the ICE version.

Other EV-specific touches include .ev badging and aero-optimized alloy wheels.

Tata Sierra EV: Platform, Battery & Powertrain

The Sierra EV is expected to be based on Tata’s Acti.ev+ architecture, the same platform that’s also used by the Harrier EV. Further, the EV could carry over the same 65kWh and 75kWh battery options.

Tata’s chief commercial officer, Vivek Srivastava, has confirmed both the RWD and AWD variants. However, AWD will likely be reserved for the larger 75kWh version.

If you’re wondering about the Sierra EV’s claimed range, it could be over 500km on a full charge with the larger battery pack. Being slightly smaller than the Harrier EV, the Sierra EV could return better efficiency from the same battery packs.

On the inside, the Sierra EV is expected to mirror the ICE model’s triple-screen layout, JBL audio with Dolby Atmos, panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, powered tailgate, Level 2 ADAS, and an optional AR-enabled HUD.

Tata Sierra EV: Price & Rivals

The Sierra EV might be priced between Rs. 18 lakh and Rs. 25 lakh (ex-showroom), filling the gap between the Curvv EV and Harrier EV in Tata’s portfolio. It will go up against rivals like the Mahindra BE 6, Hyundai Creta Electric, Maruti e-Vitara, and MG ZS EV.
