TL; DR
- Nissan India has teased the Tekton compact SUV ahead of its July 9 debut.
- The Tekton is built on the Renault Duster platform with Patrol-inspired front styling.
- Three turbo-petrol powertrain options are expected, with pricing estimated at Rs. 11–18 lakh.
Nissan India has teased the Tekton compact SUV ahead of its official launch next month, on July 9, 2026, marking its second launch of the year after the Gravite MPV. It is the brand’s attempt to re-enter the hot mid-size SUV market since the Terrano left the Indian market in May 2020.

Nissan Tekton: Design
The teaser reveals a front-heavy design with inverted L-shaped LED DRLs, a full-width LED light bar above a red accent strip, chunky skid plates, silver roof rails, and contrast-coloured alloy wheels.
For those catching up, the vehicle is based on the same platform as the new Renault Duster, though the silhouette carries some unique design changes. To me, it looks like the vehicle draws clear influence from Nissan’s larger Patrol SUV, which is available globally. At the rear, connected taillights are expected.
A three-row version of the Tekton is expected to follow after the initial five-seat launch.

Nissan Tekton: Pricing & Rivals
Even though Nissan India hasn’t announced official pricing, the Tekton could be positioned in the ₹11-18 lakh (ex-showroom) segment, where it competes against the segment leader, the Hyundai Creta, the soon-to-catch-up Kia Seltos, and the hot-and-heavy Tata Sierra.
