Redmi Note 9 5G series go official along with Redmi Watch

Redmi has unveiled the first 5G phones from its Note series viz. Redmi Note 9 5G and Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G. The Pro edition runs on Snapdragon 750G while the standard model ships with Mediatek Dimensity 800U. In the event, it also showcased the brand new Redmi Watch.

Starting with the phones,

Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G Specs

The phone’s display is a 6.67-inch FHD+ IPS panel with a 120Hz refresh rate. There’s a punch-hole up top that houses a 16MP selfie snapper. By the back, the phone sports a quartet that includes a 108MP main sensor, a 13MP ultrawide shooter, a 2MP macro module, and a 2MP depth lens.

Internally, the phone carries Snapdragon 750G chip, a 4,820mAh battery (33W fast charging supported), up to 8GB LPDDR4 RAM, and 256GB UFS 2.1 storage. The software on top is Android 10-based MIUI 12.

Redmi Note 9 5G Specs

This one has also got an FHD+ LCD panel but is slightly smaller at 6.53-inches. The refresh rate is also limited to 60Hz only. Within the punch-hole, there’s a 13MP sensor. As for the back, the cameras comprise a 48MP primary shooter, an 8MP ultrawide clicker, and a 2MP depth unit.

Inside, the contents include Mediatek Dimensity 800U, a 5,000mAh battery (18W fast charger supported), up to 8GB RAM, and 256GB ROM. The software is the same as above.

Redmi Watch Features

Upfront, the Redmi Watch flaunts a 1.4-inch square LCD display. It sports colors, touch support, and 323 PPI brightness. You can personalize the watch face with more than 120 options out of the box. The customizability extends to things like the color of the case (blue, black, and ivory) as well as straps (black, olive, ivory, blue, and cherry blossom).

It brings goodies like 30-day heart rate tracking, sleep tracking, 7 sport modes, NFC contactless payments, and 5ATM water resistance. The watch weighs 35 grams and lugs around a 230mAh battery that can eke out 7-days worth of juice on a single charge. The standby time can go even up to 12 days.

  • Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G 6GB+128GB costs CNY 1599 (~₹17,960); 8GB+128GB: CNY 1799 (~₹20,210); 8GB+256GB: CNY 1999 (~₹22,450)
  • Redmi Note 9 5G price starts at CNY 1299 (~ ₹14,600) for the 6GB + 128GB model; CNY 1499 (~₹16,900) for the 8GB + 128GB variant, and CNY 1699 (~₹19,000) for the 8GB + 256GB SKU.
