After launching the Find X8 series in its native market, the Chinese smartphone giant Oppo is gearing up to reveal the lineup globally. “The Find X8 Series is the first in the world to feature a revolutionary dual-periscope camera system with a unique Triple Prims Fold Reflection System,” the company writes in a press note.
Oppo talks about how the Find X8 series will feature a quad-camera system with innovative GenAI features such as AI-backed Telescope Zoom, an advanced HyperTone Image Engine, Dolby Vision video recording, and four-mic Spatial Audio. The series will also sport Hasselblad Portrait, Master Mode for granular control over camera settings, and Lightning Snap. One by one, let’s discuss all the features that the Find X8 series has.

Oppo Find X8 Will Feature Dual-Periscope Camera System
First and foremost, Oppo highlights the presence of two periscope cameras on the Find X8 series. As per the information available on the Chinese website, the Find X8 Pro is the model that offers two zoom lenses: one 3x periscope lens and another 6x periscope lens. Oppo says it has achieved this by creating the thinnest and the lightest flagship camera system.
The Find X8 Pro features a 50MP LYT600 sensor with a 3x periscope lens that delivers crystal-clear shots in all lighting conditions. Further, the camera houses a large 1/1.95-inch sensor in a new Triple Prism Folded Lens, reducing the weight by 30% and size by 24% compared to the previous flagship models.
The company has also achieved a minimum lens protrusion (3.09mm) by placing the lens parallel to the phone’s body. Accompanying the 3x lens is another 50MP Sony IMX858 sensor with another periscope lens that provides a 6x optical zoom range. This “extends your reach from travel photography to capturing your favorite performer on stage.”
Find X8 Series To Use Generative AI Models For High Zoom Ranges
With both sensors, the Find X8 series provides AI Telescope Zoom, wherein generative AI models “help users zoom into subjects while preserving clarity and accuracy, even at extreme zoom levels such as up to 120X.”
Interestingly, the press note also mentions that different AI models are used when shooting at 10x to 20x, 20x to 60x (the camera uses a Generative Adversarial Network that focuses on detail preservation), and 60x to 120x (wherein a model reconstructs images at the pixel level). Even the primary 50MP Sony LYT808 offers vivid images and superb contrast, even in low-lighting conditions.

2-DOL HDR and Improved HyperTone Image Engine
Oppo Find X8’s 2-DOL (Dual Overlapping Linear) HDR combined two sets of exposure data using alternative pixels within the same frame, increasing dynamic range and enabling razor-sharp images, especially for fast-moving objects.
The HyperTone Image Engine ensures every image has exceptional clarity across mid-tones, highlights, and tones by performing all computational adjustments directly on RAW sensor data. It is also optimized to retain fine details while clicking tiny objects.
Quick Button And Hasselblad Camera Mode
The Find X8 series features a dedicated Quick Button, which is similar to the Camera Control button on iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro models. Functioning in a similar manner, the Quick Button lets users launch the camera app, take a photo, and turn on continuous shooting for photos. The button also helps with zooming in/out.
Then there’s the Hasselblad Camera Mode, which brings the brilliance of the medium-format photography to the Find X8 series. The mode simulates the iconic Hasselblad X2D camera, delivering natural bokeh effects, stunning color representation, and a dynamic range that’s true to life. The mode offers a choice between focal lengths ranging from 24mm to 135mm.
“Whether in Auto mode for effortless, professional-level hots, or Pro mode for deeper customization, every capture showcases the rich tones, clarity, and precision Hasselblad is known for.” The Find X8 and the Find X8 Pro are about to launch in India at the end of November or the first week of December.
