The Chinese consumer tech giants Oppo and vivo have launched their latest flagship smartphone series: the Find X8 and the vivo X200 lineup. While the former consists of two models, the latter has three models (two regular-sized smartphones and one ‘mini’ variant). However, today’s comparison will focus on the specifications of the baseline models: the Find X8 and vivo X200.

- vivo X200: 160.27 x 74.81 x 7.99 mm; 197 grams
Both phones share a similar design, with a punch-hole screen and minimal bezel on the sides.

Oppo Find X8 vs. vivo X200: Screen
Out of the box, the Oppo Find X8 ships with a 6.59-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 2760 x 1256 pixels (460 ppi). The display can achieve a refresh rate of 120Hz and a touch sampling rate of 240Hz. It also supports the P3 wide color gamut.
Although the screen can shine as bright as 4,500 nits, that’s just at an APL (average picture level) of 1 percent. Simply put, only one percent of the screen can achieve 4,500 nits of peak brightness. The entire screen maxes out at 1,600 nits in direct sunlight and about 800 nits indoors. Nonetheless, the screen supports high dynamic range formats like Dolby Vision and HDR10+.
In comparison, the Vivo X200 has a slightly larger screen. Measuring 6.67-inch, the AMOLED panel supports a 120Hz refresh rate and can achieve a peak brightness of 4,500 nits. Although the company doesn’t specify it on the Chinese product page, we believe 4,500 nits is the local peak brightness, like the Oppo Find X8. The resolution and pixel density remain similar (2,800 x 1,260, 460 ppi).
Even though both phones offer a similar viewing experience, the Find X8 has a slightly smaller screen than the vanilla X200. While this could work as a pro for some people, it could be a con for others.
Oppo Find X8 vs. vivo X200: Processor
Under the hood, both Chinese flagships run on the newly-launched MediaTek Dimensity 9400 SoC based on TSMC’s second-generation 3nm fabrication technology. It is an octa-core chip with a 3.626GHz prime core, three 3.3GHz performance cores, and four 2.4GHz efficiency cores. With the CPU, the chip also features the Immortalis-G925 GPU. Together, the combo results in one of the highest benchmark scores on AnTuTu 10 and GeekBench 6.
Besides the processor, the phones feature LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage, which adds to the flagship-grade performance. Both phones are available in the Chinese market with 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. In addition, the processor also supports multimodal Gemini Nano, courtesy of the capable CPU, GPU, and the new 9th generation NPU with hardware acceleration for text, image, and speech.

Moreover, the Find X8 and the vivo X200 should feel snappy and responsive while performing daily tasks like reading emails, watching videos, or switching between multiple apps. Demanding tasks like editing videos or gaming shouldn’t be a problem for the processor either. However, we can comment only on real life when we test a Dimensity 9400-powered smartphone.

vivo X200 Camera Configuration
- 50MP (f/1.57, 23mm) primary camera with optical image stabilization; bigger aperture than Find X8 could result in better low-light performance.
- 50MP (f/2.57, 70mm) Zeiss super-telephoto camera for 3x optical zoom and 100x digital zoom.
- 50MP (f/2.0, 119-degree) ultra-wide camera with autofocus.
- 32MP (f/2.0, 20mm) ultrawide selfie camera.
Additional camera features include 4K video recording at 60 fps (both from the front and the rear camera), Zeiss T* lens coating, and ZEISS camera modes. The phone should also provide several AI-based features for capturing and editing photos, but we don’t know much about them at the moment.
Oppo Find X8 vs. vivo X200: Connectivity
When it comes to connectivity, both phones support Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth v5.4 (including codecs like SBA, AAC, and aptX), a USB-C port (USB 2.0 on the vivo X200), and NFC. Both phones also feature an IR blaster and GPS connectivity with various satellites.

Oppo Find X8 vs. vivo X200: Operating System
Out of the box, the Oppo Find X8 runs on ColorOS 15.0. While improved animations (powered by dedicated display engines) happen to be a key highlight of the new operating system, it also features an iOS-style Control Center and volume panel, includes Live Photos, various lock screen customization options, and Dynamic Island-like notifications.
Similar to ColorOS 15.0, OriginOS 5 features improved dynamic animations, depth-of-field wallpapers, more lock-screen customization options, and a Dynamic Island-like notification system. Both operating systems have a similar look and feel, as they’re based on Android 15. Further, they also feature several AI-based features.
Oppo Find X8 vs. vivo X200: Conclusion
While none of the phones have officially debuted in India, the global variants will share most of their specifications with the Chinese versions. Hence, at least from the specifications, it is evident that the phones will provide similar real-life performance, thanks to the Dimensity 9400 SoC. Even so, the Find X8 is more compact and supports wireless charging, which might make a significant difference for a buyer.
Oppo Find X8 vs. vivo X200: Indian Launch Timeline
While the Oppo Find X8 could launch in India in the third week of November 2024, the vivo X200 series could launch in India in the second week of December 2024.
