After months of rumors and leaks, the OnePlus 16 finally has a release date. It’s China only for now, so don’t get your hopes high. The handset arrives in China on October 12, 2026, and it’s going to be the brand’s most ambitious flagship till date.

OnePlus 16: Launch and availability

The date came through posts on Weibo, following the brand’s Gaming Conference in China. However, there’s still no word on pricing, the memory or storage variants, and, most importantly, international availability. Indian buyers should stay cautious, since an earlier report suggested this flagship might skip our market entirely.

OnePlus 16: What To Expect?

What’s really unique is that OnePlus has built a three-chip esports system, with separate hardware for networking, touch sampling, and display image processing, plus a software layer it calls the Wind Chaser Gaming Kernel.

However, game developers must ensure their title supports the higher frame rate. So far, the list is quite limited. The Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 peaks at 5.0GHz (two clocks feature that clock speed).

A test unit with 16GB RAM and 512GB storage reportedly scored 5,384,433 in AnTuTu 3D, with 1,458,283 for CPU and 2,010,584 for GPU. However, the retail version could still score quite less than this, due to thermal viability and intentional throttling.
