TL; DR
  • Leaked Galaxy S26 FE firmware reveals a redesigned One UI 9.5 software update banner.
  • The new design replaces One UI 9’s circular motif with three curved pink lines.
  • One UI 9.5 is expected in Q1 2027 with the Galaxy S27 series, built on Android 17.

Samsung’s One UI 9 hasn’t even finished rolling out yet, but traces of its successor are already surfacing in leaked firmware. A new leak suggests that One UI 9.5 could come with a fresh visual identity for the software update screen.

One UI 9.5’s Glimpse Found In An Unexpected Place

An unreleased firmware pulled from the purported Galaxy S26 FE seems to feature an image built for the One UI 9.5 update banner. It is the graphic Galaxy smartphone owners see in the Settings menu when they’re checking for new software.

For those catching up, Samsung introduced these screen-filling banners with One UI 8.5. They’ve been mostly using bold circular shapes as the centerpieces. While One UI 9 rearranged those same circles to visually form the number 9, One UI 9.5 might abandon the circular design entirely. Instead, it could replace it with three large, curved pink lines that sweep across the screen.

Now, this doesn’t mean that the Galaxy S26 FE itself runs One UI 9.5. The company is widely rumored to introduce One UI 9.5 with the purported Galaxy S27 series in January 2027. For now, you should understand that the company routinely places assets for future software into current firmware well ahead of public release.

What Else Is Coming With The Update?

One UI 9.5 will be Samsung’s second UI version built on Android 17. Reports suggest it may bring more substantial design changes, including semi-transparent interface cards and floating bars, along with layouts better optimized for foldables and tablets.
