Homegrown car maker Mahindra has hiked the prices of its cars in India slightly. The brand has announced a price hike across its range of ICE SUVs and commercial vehicles, which will be effective starting 6 April 2026. Mahindra has been among the top 3 brands in India consistently for over a year now, thanks to the brand’s vast lineup of products that include practical city cars, EVs, off-road SUVs, and more.

According to Mahindra, the price hike comes as a result of a combination of cost escalations. The brand said that the prices for the range will be increased by up to 2.5 percent and across the portfolio of vehicles that Mahindra offers, there will be an average price hike of 1.6 percent. This, however, comes as an annual price hike from the brand as around the same time in March 2025 also Mahindra increased the prices of its cars by up to 3 percent.

For the April 2026 price hike, however, the latest Mahindra XUV 7XO has not been impacted. The company had recently said that the newly-launched XUV 7XO will not be affected immediately and for the first 40,000 bookings, the car will be immune to any price hikes in the market. The price hike, however, will impact the XUV 7XO after the 40,000 units are delivered. Apart from the Mahindra XUV 7XO, all EVs in the range have also not been impacted by the price hike.

While we don’t have the exact costs or by how much the prices for each car has increased, there are a few estimates. For example, the Mahindra XUV 3XO, which is the cheapest Mahindra car in the country is currently priced at ₹7.37 lakh onwards. If we were to add an average of 1.6 percent hike, the XUV 3XO price will be revised to ₹7.49 lakh onwards.

The Mahindra Bolero starts at a price of ₹7.99 lakh (ex-showroom). With a 1.6 percent price hike, the Bolero can potentially cost ₹8.12 lakh onwards for buyers after the price hike. Similarly, the Mahindra Thar which costs ₹9.99 lakh (ex-showroom) onwards, can start at ₹10.15 lakh onwards after a 1.6 percent price hike.

The Mahindra Thar Roxx, which starts at a price of ₹12.39 lakh could start at a price of ₹12.59 lakh (ex-showroom), potentially seeing a ₹20,000 jump in the car’s starting price. The Mahindra Scorpio N, which currently starts at a price of ₹13.49 lakh (ex-showroom) would be starting at ₹13.71 lakh onwards after the increase in prices.
