POCO appears to be preparing another addition to its M8 series, with leaked specifications now revealing the hardware expected on the POCO M8x 5G. The phone looks set to sit below the other M8 models, with an HD+ LCD display, Dimensity 6300 chipset, and a smaller battery.
POCO M8x 5G Specifications
The POCO M8x 5G is tipped to feature a 6.9-inch IPS LCD display with HD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. This would make it the first M8-series model to use an LCD panel, with the M8 and M8 Power featuring AMOLED displays.
Under the hood, the phone is expected to use the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset, paired with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. Storage expansion is also expected to be supported.
The phone could pack a 6,000 mAh battery with 33W wired charging. It is also tipped to run HyperOS 3 out of the box.
Camera details remain limited, although recent POCO teasers have shown a dual rear camera setup with an LED flash. The phone has also appeared in a green colourway with a gold-accented camera module and flat frame.

Redmi 17C Connection
Earlier reports suggested that the POCO M8x 5G could be a rebranded version of the Redmi 17 5G. The latest specification leak doesn’t match that phone.
The Redmi 17 5G uses a Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 chipset and packs a 7,500 mAh battery with 45W charging. The M8x’s leaked Dimensity 6300 chipset and 6,000mAh battery instead line up closely with the recently leaked Redmi 17C 5G, which is also tipped to feature a 6.9-inch 720p LCD display, Dimensity 6300 chipset, and 6,000 mAh battery with 33W charging.

Price and Availability
The POCO M8x 5G is expected to be priced below ₹20,000 in India. That would place it below the M8 Power within POCO’s lineup.
The M8x would become the third M8-series phone in India, following the M8, which launched in January, and the M8 Power which launched last month.
POCO has yet to confirm the launch date, pricing, or complete specifications. The leaked RAM and storage configurations should also be treated as unconfirmed until the company announces the phone.
