TL; DR
  • Google confirms 7 years of spare-part availability for the Pixel 11 series.
  • This matches the phones’ seven-year software update commitment across all markets.
  • The policy mirrors what Google first introduced with the Pixel 8 series in 2023.

Alongside the Pixel 11 series’ seven-year software update commitment (same as Samsung’s flagship and mid-rangers), Google has confirmed an equally important pro-consumer move. The company has promised seven years of spare parts availability across every market where the phones are officially available.

What Google Actually Announced

The confirmation came during the Pixel 11 line’s Indian launch event. The company reiterated that battery, screen, and other crucial component replacements will remain available for the same seven-year window as its software support.

For anyone considering a Pixel 11 as a long-term device, someone who holds on to devices for longer than two to three years, this removes one of the biggest practical risks: the unavailability of spare parts for replacements. The phone can’t become unrepairable after a certain time.

Why This Promise Matters More Than It Might Seem

Software longevity gets most of the attention in flagship announcements, with Google and Samsung leading the industry. However, hardware serviceability often gets neglected, even though it is arguably just as critical to a phone actually surviving seven years of use.

Pixel batteries are rated for roughly 1,000 charge cycles before capacity drops by 20 percent, meaning most owners would see a noticeable decline within roughly three years of daily use, which is what makes access to spare parts even more important.
