The latest hike, confirmed via MRP stickers on new retail stock and Sony Center listings, brings the PS5 Standard Edition up by ₹15,000 from its previous India price of ₹54,990 (a 27% increase).

The Hike Coincides With GTA VI Launch
GTA 6 launches on November 19, 2026, which is the confirmed date for now, exclusively for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. Furthermore, there could be a fair share of buyers who could have picked up the console with GTA VI; that’s the hype around the product.
At ₹69,990, the calculus changes considerably. I wouldn’t call the PS5 affordable at this point, but then, seeing the condition of the consumer tech market, nothing really is. Sony has made no announcement about a price rollback or a digital edition adjustment for India.
