Mahindra’s BE 6e has brought a breath of fresh air into the Indian EV segment after Tata successfully revived it with the Curvv EV. But how do the two electric coupe SUVs compare? Let’s find out in this detailed comparison.

Mahindra BE 6e vs. Tata Curvv EV: Design
Even though the BE 6e and the Curvv EV are coupe SUVs, they have a distinct design. While including each and every design element would go beyond the scope of this article, the Mahindra BE 6e has a futuristic look, while the Tata Curvv EV rocks an elegant and contemporary design.
The exterior of the BE 6e is dominated by bold J-shaped DRLs on the front, a scooped hood (with an aerodynamic splitter), sharp cuts and creases that run from the front to the rear end of the car, and the massive connected LED at the rear with a screen-like setup. The sharp edges and slopy roofline give the vehicle a fresh stance, unlike anything seen on Indian cars.
However, just a couple of months ago, we were praising the look and feel of the Tata Curvv EV. While the front of the vehicle resembles other cars in the company’s lineup, the sloping roofline gives the Curvv a coupe SUV-like stance. Unlike the BE 6e, the Curvv EV uses less prominent DRLs, a more sophisticated front grille, and fewer cuts and creases. Even on the back, the Curvv has fewer lights and no evident spoilers.
Even though everyone’s design preferences are different, we believe that the BE 6e will appeal more to the young crowd, while the Tata Curvv EV will attract more professionals or slightly older buyers who aren’t into aggressive DRLs and LED lights on the front and the back of their vehicle.
Mahindra BE 6e vs. Tata Curvv EV: Cabin Features
The BE 6e isn’t just different from the outside; it features a cabin that hasn’t been seen on an Indian car. To begin with, the cabin has a partition between the driver and the co-driver sections, giving it a more sporty feel. Besides two gigantic displays, the cabin features a fighter jet-inspired throttle to change drive modes and roof-mounted controls.
Besides the throttle-like driving mode selector, there’s a circular knob that includes the air conditioner’s control, and there’s a magnetic key holder as well. The two-spoke steering D-shaped steering wheel has several touch controls and two physical buttons on each side. Above the instrument cluster, buyers get a HUD system, which uses augmented reality to show useful information on the lower part of the windshield.
To open the doors, buyers will have to pull on a fabric strap that extends out of the door. The window controls are also changed: one has to push them backward to open the window and forward to close it. At the top, buyers and passengers get a moonroof with illuminated light strips, adding more vibrance to the cabin.
On the flip side, the Tata Curvv EV has a more familiar cabin with a four-spoke steering wheel, an integrated instrument cluster, and a large infotainment screen. The cabin controls are at their usual location, and so are the drive and the powertrain mode selector. Both vehicles offer ventilated and electrically adjustable seats, tilt and telescopic steering adjustments, and massive sunroofs.
Both vehicles also offer AC vents for rear passengers, three-point seatbelts, and rear armrests. Though the Curvv EV is equipped with nine speakers, the BE 6e comes with 16 Harman Kardon speakers. Further, Mahindra’s SUV also has an inward-facing camera that uses AI to detect if the driver is attentive or sleepy.
Hence, even on the inside, the BE 6e appears to be more sporty and tech-loaded. However, with the new features comes a learning curve every owner must go through.
Mahindra BE 6e vs. Tata Curvv EV: Battery Pack And Range
Both the cars offer two different battery packs.
Mahindra BE 6e comes with 59 kWh and 79 kWh battery packs. The former offers 535 kilometers, while the latter is rated to provide 682 kilometers. What’s good is that the company offers two charger configurations: 7.2 kW and 11.2 kW AC chargers. Last but not least, the brand offers a lifetime warranty on the BE 6e’s battery.
The Tata Curvv EV, on the other hand, comes with 45 kWh and 55 kWh battery packs. While the former offers 430 kilometers, the latter offers 502 kilometers of claimed range. Unlike the BE 6e, the Curvv EV is only available with a 7.2 kW AC charger and is also slower to charge. Last but not least, Tata offers an eight-year or 1,60,000-kilometer warranty.

Mahindra BE 6e vs. Tata Curvv EV: Platform
For those wondering about the difference in battery capacity, it is probably due to the cars’ platforms. The Mahindra BE 6e is based on the INGLO platform, an EV-only platform built for carrying larger batteries. For the uninitiated, the BE 6e is a rear-wheel drive.
On the other hand, the Curvv EV is based on the company’s ICE platform and can’t carry heavier batteries. Unlike the BE 6e, the Curvv EV is a front-wheel drive.
Mahindra BE 6e vs. Tata Curvv EV: Price And Availability
The baseline BE 6e with the 59 kWh battery pack will cost buyers Rs. 18.90 lakhs (ex-showroom). Although Mahindra’s electric SUV is a tad more expensive than the baseline Curvv EV that costs Rs. 17.50 lakhs (ex-showroom), it offers better range, more features, and a new design (if that’s what one is looking for).
Since the base variant of the BE 6e offers a similar range as the Curvv EV’s top model, we’re inclined toward deeming it the more value-for-money proposition.
However, one can’t go wrong with the Tata Curvv EV, especially the long-range variant that offers around 400 kilometers of range on a single charge. In fact, it could be the perfect EV for many buyers who want a conventional vehicle.
