Every year, Apple picks a standout colour for the Pro lineup, and every year, buyers have strong opinions about it. The iPhone 18 Pro is no different, with Apple introducing Burgundy and Glacier while dropping last year’s Cosmic Orange and Deep Blue. The full lineup now includes Black, Silver, Glacier and Burgundy.
Apple has gone through quite a few colour cycles with its Pro iPhones. The iPhone 11 Pro brought Midnight Green, followed by the popular Pacific Blue on the iPhone 12 Pro. Sierra Blue arrived with the iPhone 13 Pro, while the iPhone 14 Pro went with Deep Purple. The move to titanium with the iPhone 15 Pro and 16 Pro brought more muted options, before Apple returned to bolder colours with the aluminium iPhone 17 Pro.
This year’s lineup takes things in a quieter direction again. Burgundy is the boldest option, while Glacier adds some personality without being particularly bold like the Burgundy. Black and Silver remain for anyone who wants something more familiar and classy. So, which iPhone 18 Pro colour should you actually get?
1. Burgundy

Burgundy is my pick. It’s a deep, wine-toned red that stands out without being as loud as Cosmic Orange (I know a lot of you didn’t like it). It gives the Pro lineup some personality while still looking relatively understated. If you want a colour people will notice when you take the phone out of its case, Burgundy is the one to get.

2. Glacier

Glacier is the middle ground. It’s a pale, icy shade with more character than a traditional Silver, while remaining easy to live with. If Burgundy feels too bold but Black and Silver feel too predictable, Glacier is probably the best option. This color is also brand new and looks similar to the iPhone 13 Pro’s Sierra Blue.

3. Black
Black is the safe choice. It looks premium, works with almost any case and doesn’t draw much attention. There’s nothing particularly wrong with it, but Apple has offered some version of a black Pro iPhone for years, so there’s little novelty here. Although I must say this is one of the deepest matte black options I’ve seen in recent years.

4. Silver
Silver is the most understated option of the four. It’s clean, familiar and easy to pair with pretty much anything. If you don’t care much about the colour or plan to keep the phone in a case, Silver gets the job done. It looks pretty similar to the iPhone 17 Pro’s silver, although the back glass is now color-matched to the aluminium.

Which iPhone 18 Pro Colour Should You Get?
I’d pick Burgundy if you want the most distinctive colour this year. Glacier is the better choice if you want something different, something on the lighter side. Black and Silver make more sense if you prefer the classic Pro look or plan to cover the phone with a case anyway.
