The Lenovo-owned smartphone brand Moto is gearing up to release the yearly update to its Razr series. Last year, the company released the Razr 40 (review) and the Razr 40 Ultra. In 2024, the brand will update its foldable lineup with the Razr 50 and the Razr 50 Ultra, two foldables that could compete with some of the most popular models, including the Flip 5 (review) or the upcoming Flip 6.

The Razr 50 And Razr 50 Ultra To Come Out Next Month

SmartPrix’s well-placed sources have confirmed that the Moto Razr 50 and Razr 50 Ultra are coming to global markets, including India, in July 2024. Last year, the company announced the Razr 40 and the Razr 40 Ultra on June 1, 2023. However, since the company didn’t follow a similar launch timeline this year, it makes sense that it has shifted the launch to July. It looks like the company will launch the phone early next month, followed by international availability within a couple of weeks.

Moto Razr 50 renders and specifications

Like last year, Motorola could launch two foldables under its Razr lineup: the Razr 50 and the Razr 50 Ultra. First, let’s discuss some aspects of the regular Razr 50. The foldable is said to come with a 6.9-inch pOLED screen with support for 120Hz refresh rate. Further, it will also sport a 3.63-inch cover screen, which goes around the camera cutouts for a modern look.

Under the hood, the foldable will run on the MediaTek Dimensity 7300X 5G processor with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. Further, it will feature a 50MP primary camera, a 13MP ultrawide shooter on the rear, and a 13MP selfie camera on the front. Powering the smartphone will be a 4,200 mAh battery, which might support a decently fast charging rate.

According to recent renders, the Moto Razr 50 will have a leather finish on the back, giving the smartphone a more premium feel. It will ship in three colors: one that feels like dark gray, another that looks like a darker beige shade, and the last one that looks like a rusty hue. The regular Razr 50 will cost EUR 899 for the base model.

Regarding optics, the Razr 50 Ultra could feature a 50MP main camera, a 50MP 2x telephoto camera on the back, and a 32MP punch-hole selfie camera on the front. Powering the phone is a 4,000 mAh battery that supports wireless charging. Other features include an IPX8 water-resistance rating and some AI-based photo/video editing tools.
