First and foremost, let’s delve into the heart of the device—its specifications. Like its predecessor, the device will sport a 6.9-inch 2640 x 1080p OLED display. The cover display will retain the 3.6-inch size.

Under the hood, the Razr 50 Ultra will be powered by the latest Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset, with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. On the camera front, the device will boast a dual-camera setup on the rear, featuring a 50 MP wide-angle lens and a 50 MP 2x telephoto lens. Meanwhile, the 32 MP front camera will take care of the selfies.

But that’s not all—the Razr 50 Ultra/ Razr+ 2024 will be equipped with a large 4000 mAh battery, a substantial upgrade for a foldable clamshell device. Like its predecessor, it will also support both USB-C wired charging and wireless charging. Additionally, the device will have eSIM support and IPX8 water resistance.

The Razr 50 Ultra/ Razr+ 2024 will also have a fingerprint reader and facial recognition for biometric authentication. And yes, the device will run on Android 14 on top of Hello UI. Speaking of which, the Razr 50 Ultra will be  Motorola’s first clamshell foldable with integrated AI-powered photo/video capture and AI editing tools.

Now, let’s talk pricing. We can confirm that the Motorola Razr 50 Ultra, a.k.a. the Motorola Razr+ 2024, will be available in the US for $999 for the 12 GB RAM + 256 GB storage variant. As of the launch date, expect the phone to be launched next month, i.e., June 2024.

The pricing matches the Razr+ 2023, which was also launched at $999 for the 8 GB + 256 GB configuration. Earlier this month, some reports suggested that the Motorola Razr 50 Ultra will be priced at €1200 in the EU, the same price as the Razr 40 Ultra launched last year.

This could very well mean that Motorola aims to keep prices the same as last year; hence, we can expect the Razr 50 Ultra / Razr+ 2024 to be priced at INR 89,999 in India, the same price at which the Razr 40 Ultra launched last year. Unfortunately, the Razr 40 Ultra debuted quite late in India, in September 2023, so expect the same for the upcoming Razr 50 Ultra.

The Razr 50 Ultra, or the Razr+ 2024, seems to be a solid upgrade over its predecessor. As for the specs and pricing, they appear to offer a compelling combination of features and value. We’d be interested to see how it performs in real-world usage.
