TL; DR
- ColorOS 17 adds (or expands) one-tap file sharing via Touch interactions, letting you hold two phones near each other to transfer files.
- It supports OPPO, OnePlus, realme, Xiaomi, vivo, HONOR and other compatible devices.
- The feature is separate from Google Quick Share’s tap-to-share function. Both phones need NFC, Bluetooth and Touch interactions enabled.
ColorOS 17 makes cross-brand file sharing easier with its Touch interactions feature. You can select photos, videos, documents or other files and hold your phone near the NFC area of another supported phone to start a transfer. The process skips the usual share sheet and device selection.
OPPO lists support for OPPO, OnePlus, realme, Xiaomi, vivo, HONOR and other compatible devices. The receiving phone needs to run ColorOS 15.0 or later, or an equivalent software version that supports cross-brand tapping. Both devices need Bluetooth, NFC and Touch interactions enabled. Some phones also require Wi-Fi.
The sender must select files from a supported app, including Photos, Documents, My Files, Notes and Contacts. Certain third-party apps also support the feature.

How ColorOS 17’s tap-to-share feature works
The feature builds on OPPO Share, which has supported file transfers between OPPO, OnePlus, realme and several other Chinese smartphone brands. ColorOS 17 adds a tap-based trigger to make those transfers easier.

It also works separately from Google’s Quick Share tap-to-share feature. Google’s implementation is still rolling out across a limited number of devices, while OPPO’s cross-brand support already covers several major smartphone brands.

The same Touch interactions menu supports sharing files with tablets running ColorOS 17.0 or later. Devices running ColorOS 14.1 or later can also use NFC with a supported keyboard.
You can also use Touch interactions to send watch faces to a ColorOS Watch running version 16 or later. OPPO warns that thick or irregularly shaped phone cases can interfere with tapping between phones or tablets.

For ColorOS users, this is a convenient way to share files across several smartphone brands through a single gesture. Google Quick Share remains Android’s broader file-sharing standard, and its tap-based implementation is still reaching more devices. ColorOS users already have access to a useful cross-brand option.
