TL; DR
  • Amazon’s Great Freedom Sale 2026 begins August 7, with smartphone deals already teased.
  • Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra drops to ₹1,90,999; OnePlus 15 drops to ₹81,999.
  • HDFC cards get a 10% instant discount; Amazon Pay ICICI cards get 5% unlimited cashback.

Amazon’s Great Freedom Sale returns on August 7, 2026, ahead of Independence Day on August 15. The company has already started teasing smartphone deals ahead of the event, headlined by a discount on a foldable that you wouldn’t expect to appear on this list: it’s the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra.

Amazon Great Freedom Sale 2026: The Big-Ticket Discounts

The Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra (review) will be available at ₹1,90,999, down from its ₹1,99,999 list price. That makes up for a ₹9,000 discount on a phone that only recently launched (a f few weeks ago).

The OnePlus 15 (review), powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, drops from ₹89,999 to ₹81,999. Amazon has also confirmed discounts on the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra (review) and Galaxy M47 5G, a flagship and a mid-ranger, respectively. However, the exact deal hasn’t been revealed yet.

Beyond the flagships, the sale extends to recently launched phones including the OnePlus 13s, Redmi A7 Pro, iQOO Z11 Lite, Realme Narzo 100x, iQOO 15R, and OnePlus Nord CE 6.

HDFC Bank cardholders get a 10% instant discount. Amazon Pay UPI users get ₹150 cashback, while Amazon Pay ICICI Bank credit card users get 5% unlimited cashback.

Redmi A7 Pro 5G₹15,999₹14,499
OnePlus Nord CE 6₹40,999₹31,999

I’d treat the Fold 8 Ultra discount as the real headline here (as I quite literally did). A ₹9,000 cut on a phone that barely launched signals both Samsung and Amazon want the foldable’s sales to pick up some speed.

However, if I zoom out and look at the smartphone market of India, it hasn’t been at its best value, thanks to the ongoing chip crisis that isn’t expected to go away until 2028 (based on reports published in 2026). Usually, I tell everyone to wait until the Diwali sale on smartphones and consumer electronics, but this year, I am not sure whether the headline discounts will be as good as in previous years.
