Vivo V40 And V40 Pro To Launch In India Soon, Landing Page Reveals Key Features

The Chinese smartphone manufacturer Vivo has started teasing its upcoming camera-centric smartphones under the Vivo V40 series. The lineup consists of two models: the vanilla V40 and the V40 Pro. Interestingly, both the models will feature cameras co-engineered with Zeiss. Teasing the smartphones, Vivo has published a dedicated landing page on its website, which contains some key details about handsets.

Vivo V40 Series To Feature Zeiss-Engineered Cameras

The Vivo V40 Pro features three 50MP sensors. The main camera is a 50MP Sony IMX821 sensor with Zeiss OIS. There’s also a 50MP Zeiss ultrawide camera for shooting landscapes. The phone also has a 50MP Sony IMX816 Zeiss telephoto camera for taking portrait pictures, which provides 2x optical zoom. Using the software, the cameras can also provide up to 50x Zeiss Hyper Zoom. On the front, users get a 50MP Zeiss Group Selfie Camera with a 92-degree wide field of view.

In addition to Zeiss optics, the Vivo V40 series will feature an IP68 dust and water resistance rating, which means the phone can survive submersion in freshwater up to 1.5 meters for up to 30 minutes. The phone features a comprehensive cushioning structure to shield against bumps and knocks from any angle. Vivo also mentions that it has tested the device by dropping it up to 42,000 times, plugging/unplugging it up to 10,000 times, and simulated a high temperature and humidity environment for up to 72 hours.

Last but not least, the Vivo V40 series is touted to feature a 5,500 mAh battery that supports 80W FlashCharge fast wired charging. The Vivo V40 will be available in three colors, including Lotus Purple, Ganges Blue, and Titanium Gray. The V40 pro, on the other hand, is available in the Ganges Blue and Titanium Gray colors.

Vivo V40 Specifications (Global)

The Vivo V40 variant launched in the United Kingdom features a 6.78-inch 1.5K AMOLED screen that supports 144Hz refresh rate and up to 4,500 nits of peak brightness. Under the hood, the smartphone runs on Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 (4nm) mobile platform with Adreno 720 GPU. With the processor, users get up to 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 512GB of storage.

The regular V40 features two 50MP cameras, one for clicking regular photographs and the other with an ultrawide field of view. Further, the 50MP selfie camera features autofocus. Additional features include an in-display fingerprint sensor, stereo speakers, Bluetooth v5.4, and Wi-Fi 6. The wired connection is via a USB Type-C 2.0 port.
