TL; DR
  • Android Headlines has shared official-looking renders of the Galaxy Z Fold8 ahead of launch.
  • The phone will come in Cream, Graphite, and Lavender, alongside an online-exclusive Pistachio color.
  • Samsung will unveil the Fold8 alongside the Fold8 Ultra and Flip8 at Galaxy Unpacked on July 22.

Android Headlines has published what appear to be official renders of Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Z Fold8, giving us our best look yet at the company’s new foldable strategy for 2026.

The biggest change is the shape itself. Samsung has moved away from the tall and narrow Fold design and gone with a wider, more compact form factor this time around. The Fold8 looks much closer to a regular smartphone when closed, which lines up with Samsung’s recent teasers showing long rectangular objects transforming into wider and boxier shapes.

The leak also reveals four colors. Buyers will get Cream, Graphite, and Lavender in regular retail channels, while Samsung.com will reportedly get an exclusive Pistachio option.

Android Headlines also claims the Fold8 will weigh around 200 to 201 grams, making it lighter than last year’s model despite carrying a larger battery. Thickness drops to around 4.5mm when unfolded and roughly 9.7mm when folded.

Specs Are Already Mostly Out in the Open

Previous leaks from Ice Universe and other sources have already painted a fairly clear picture of Samsung’s smaller Fold for 2026.

The Galaxy Z Fold8 will feature a 5.4-inch 120Hz cover display and a 7.6-inch 120Hz inner display. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy sits inside, paired with 12GB RAM and 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB storage options according to Android Headlines.

Ice Universe previously reported that Samsung will use a 50MP main camera alongside a 50MP ultrawide camera, while battery capacity will be 4,800 mAh. Charging remains at 25W wired charging.

The phone will launch running One UI 9 based on Android 17.

Previous retailer leaks suggest the Galaxy Z Fold8 will start at €1,999 in Europe, while South Korean pricing is said to start at KRW 2,278,000. Samsung appears to be keeping the Fold8 at Fold7’s price point, while the Fold8 Ultra (Fold7’s successor) moves further up the ladder with a higher starting price.

Launch Happens on July 22

Samsung has already confirmed that Galaxy Unpacked will take place on July 22 in London under the tagline “A New Shape Unfolds.”

The company will announce the Galaxy Z Fold8, Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Galaxy Z Flip8, Galaxy Watch9 series, and Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 during the event.

At this point, the renders mostly confirm what Samsung has been hinting at over the past few weeks: the wider Fold is real, and it is only a couple of weeks away from becoming official.
