Reliance Jio isn’t the first name that comes to mind when you think of electric vehicles. That’s exactly what the company wants to change with the launch of its first home EV charger, the JioEV Aries Pro. Priced at ₹24,999, it positions itself as a significantly more affordable alternative to the charging units most carmakers sell through their own showrooms.
Pricing and Availability
The JioEV Aries Pro is currently available exclusively through Jio’s official listing on Amazon. For ₹24,999, buyers get the charging unit itself, along with a 5-metre Type-2 charging cable and an RFID card for authenticated access. It is worth noting that installation isn’t bundled into this price — Jio charges an additional ₹1,499 (excluding GST), payable directly to the technician once the unit is delivered and set up.

Features and Charging Speed
Despite the budget-friendly price tag, the Aries Pro doesn’t feel stripped down on features. It comes with LED charging indicators and RFID-based authentication to prevent unauthorised use, along with genuine smart connectivity — users can schedule, log, and monitor charging sessions remotely through the Jio TruePower app. Connectivity options include 4G (via an external SIM card), Wi-Fi, or a wired LAN connection, giving buyers flexibility depending on their home setup.
Rated at 7.4kW, this is a standard AC home charger well suited to overnight charging, and Jio specifically calls out compatibility with EVs like the MG Windsor EV and the Hyundai Creta Electric — though the Type-2 connector should make it broadly compatible with most EVs sold in India today.

On durability, the charger carries an IP65 rating for dust and water resistance, and an IK10 rating for impact resistance — solid protection on paper, though it’s still advisable to install any home charger in a covered, dry spot rather than fully exposed to the elements.
Why This Matters
What makes the Aries Pro genuinely interesting isn’t just the spec sheet, it’s the price. Most OEM-branded home chargers sold through car dealerships in India tend to cost significantly more for similar 7.4kW output, often pushing well past the ₹30,000–₹45,000 bracket once you account for installation and accessories. Jio entering this space with a sub-₹25,000 connected charger could put pressure on existing players to rethink their pricing, especially as home charging becomes a bigger part of the EV ownership conversation in India.
