TL; DR
- OnePlus has canceled the India launch of the 15s, confirmed by two reliable tipsters.
- The OnePlus 16T is in development with a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 and a 6.3-inch display.
- Whether the 16T reaches India is unclear, given the 15s cancellation pattern.
OnePlus has canceled the India launch of the OnePlus 15s, according to tipsters Yogesh Brar and Debayan Roy, both of whom confirmed the development this week. OnePlus has not issued an official statement.

OnePlus 15s Was Shaping Up To Be A Pretty Good Phone
The 15s was expected to be a rebranded version of the OnePlus 15T, which launched in China in March 2026 with a 6.32-inch 165Hz AMOLED, Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, dual 50MP cameras, and a 7,500mAh battery with 100W charging.
Last year, the OnePlus 13T made its way to India as the OnePlus 13s (review), making the cancellation a surprise.

This decision appears part of a broader strategy shift. The OnePlus Open 2 was shelved earlier this year, and reports suggest the brand is trimming its global roadmap and scaling back to a more limited presence in India.

For those catching up, OnePlus has hinted at a simpler strategy for the Indian market. The brand will sell smartphones in three tiers: the entry-level N lineup, the mid-range Nord lineup, and the flagship series.
The Next Compact OnePlus Is Already In Development
Tipster Digital Chat Station claims that a device, widely believed to be the OnePlus 16T, is being tested with Qualcomm’s upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 on a 2nm process.

Besides the cutting-edge chipset, the handset could also feature a 6.3-inch flat display with a very high refresh rate (likely more than 144Hz). Development is described as progressing normally, pointing to a likely Q1 2027 China debut.

Whether the 16T lands in India is the bigger question. Given the 15s cancellation, OnePlus’s established pattern of rebranding T-series phones is no longer in place. The OnePlus 16, expected in China around September or October 2026, will likely be the brand’s next confirmed India launch.
