TL; DR (tap to expand)
  • OPPO is reportedly working on a wider foldable called the Find N7 Wide, featuring a new hinge for creaseless screen and a horizontal camera design.
  • The device is tipped to offer a 7.6-inch inner display and a 5.5-inch cover screen with a less visible crease.
  • The OPPO Find N7 Wide is said to launch in Q1 2027.

OPPO is reportedly also working on a wide-format foldable smartphone. According to recent leaks, the company is developing a device tentatively called the OPPO Find N7 Wide, which is expected to feature a significantly improved hinge system for a creaseless display and a horizontal camera layout, similar to the rumored iPhone Fold.

If that sounds familiar, you’re not wrong. Apple and Samsung are both reportedly working on wider foldables, with Apple’s first-ever foldable expected to adopt a similar approach. We’ve already seen this form factor on devices like the Huawei Pura X, Pura X Max, and OPPO’s earlier Find N series, but Apple’s interest appears to be nudging the industry back toward wider foldable designs.

Building on the Success of Previous Find N Models

OPPO’s Find N series has seen steady improvement over the years. The Find N3 (launched in 2023) was widely regarded as one of the best foldables at the time, thanks to its slim profile when folded and excellent hinge durability. The series continued to evolve, with later models focusing on better display quality and thinner designs.

Key Features Expected on Find N7 Wide

According to tipster Smart Pikachu, the Find N7 Wide is expected to come with a horizontal camera module on the back. This would be a noticeable change from OPPO’s recent circular camera designs.

More importantly, the device is said to feature an advanced hinge mechanism aimed at making the crease on the inner display much less visible. Earlier reports from tipster Digital Chat Station had already hinted that OPPO is developing a new-generation hinge specifically to address one of the biggest complaints about foldable phones. The Find N7 Wide is expected to feature:

  • 7.6-inch inner foldable display
  • 5.5-inch cover screen
  • Much wider aspect ratio when folded compared to regular Find N models

The OPPO Find N7 Wide is currently expected to launch in the first quarter of 2027, possibly alongside the standard Find N7.
