LG Stylus 2 Becomes World’s First Smartphone to support DAB+

South Korean giant LG introduced Stylus 2 last month at Mobile World Congress but didn’t elaborate its features much in details. LG unveiled DAB+ enabled Stylus 2 at Radiodays Radio Conference at Europe 2016 in Paris today.

The 5.7-inch phablet with digital Audio broadcasting will retail in Australia, Belgium, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Norway and the UK. However, company has no plans to introduce in the US with DAB+ as most of the broadcasters in the country have embraced HD Radio Standard.

To recall, LG Stylus 2 is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core chipset which is coupled with 1.5 GB of LPDDR3 RAM and 16GB of ROM. It sports a 5.7-inch HD in-cell touch display at the front. The phone comes with a 3000mAh removable battery and runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

As its name suggest, It also comes with a Stylus which now gets a nano-coating at the tip for better precision as compared to its predecessor. LG has added a few new commands to make it more feature rich and useful.

On the occasion Juno Cho, president and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications, said: “We are taking a proactive approach towards the fast-paced technological shift to digital broadcasting with DAB+ to deliver a new paradigm of experiences through the smartphone. With its large 5.7-inch screen, 1 watt speaker and 3,000mAh removable battery, the LG Stylus 2 is the perfect device to enjoy rich, multimedia content.”
