Canon India will expand its consumer printing retail network to more than 10,000 active retailers across 700 cities by the end of 2027, more than doubling its current reach, the company announced Wednesday. The expansion aims to capture rising demand from homes, educational institutions, small businesses, and entrepreneurs in Tier II, III, and IV markets.

The company also introduced BizBee, a new partner-enablement platform designed for its B2B ecosystem, including System Integrators, Value-Added Resellers and other channel partners.

Canon said the move is backed by sustained double-digit year-on-year growth in its consumer printing business. The expansion will target consumer, SME, education, enterprise and institutional segments.

Why Tier II–IV India is the battleground

Canon’s expansion directly responds to shifting demand patterns. As education, digitization and infrastructure reshape consumption beyond metro cities, printing needs are growing across homes, schools, startups and small enterprises.

The company said rising entrepreneurship and digital adoption in Tier II, III and IV cities are creating new opportunities for printing solutions. By expanding to 700 cities, Canon aims to improve product availability, brand visibility and access to expert consultation and service support.

“India is central to Canon’s long-term growth ambitions, underpinned by the resilience of its economy and the emergence of new centres of enterprise and consumption,” said Toshiaki Nomura, President & CEO, Canon India. “As education, digitisation and infrastructure reshape demand across Tier 3 and Tier 4 markets, we see a significant opportunity to unlock the next phase of growth for our printing business.”

Nomura added that the 10,000-retailer target reflects Canon’s commitment to “invest ahead of the curve” and bring the brand closer to customers through trusted touchpoints that combine first-hand product experience with expert guidance.

BizBee: Canon’s B2B channel bet

While the retail expansion targets consumers and small businesses, Canon is simultaneously deepening its B2B play with BizBee.

Built on the existing Canon Passport Program—which supports more than 5,000 active reseller partners through a digital rewards and engagement platform—BizBee extends partner enablement to the B2B ecosystem.

What BizBee offers:

  • Incentives for partners
  • Product and solution training
  • Technical certifications
  • Business resources
  • Digital tools

The platform targets System Integrators, Value-Added Resellers, and other partners, helping them build stronger capabilities and solution-led engagement.

“Our channel ecosystem will be central to translating Canon’s growth ambition into business impact,” said C Sukumaran, Vice President, Canon India. “Through initiatives such as Canon Passport, RetailChamp and BizBee, we are strengthening partner engagement, knowledge and enablement across the ecosystem.”

Omnichannel push: From PIXMA Zones to quick commerce

Canon is not relying on traditional retail alone. The company is building an integrated omnichannel ecosystem spanning:

  • Traditional resellers
  • Large-format retail chains
  • E-commerce
  • Quick commerce
  • Enterprise-focused partners
  • Canon eSHOP, which lets authorized resellers showcase and sell Canon products online.

On the ground, Canon’s retail ecosystem includes more than 400 active PIXMA Zones across India. The company plans to roll out over 500 PIXMA Zone Lite stores this year.

It is also investing in frontline capabilities. The Retail Display Incentive Program engages over 1,000 partners to strengthen in-store visibility. At the same time, Canon is scaling the RetailChamp Initiative from 400 to more than 1,000 retail sales personnel to improve product knowledge and customer consultation.

Beyond retail, Canon aims to expand its System Integrator ecosystem to more than 500 partners nationwide, strengthening reach across enterprise, education and government segments.
