In Bloomberg’s February 8, 2026 Power On newsletter, Mark Gurman says Apple plans iOS 27 as a “fairly muted affair” when it previews the update at WWDC 2026. He says Apple will focus more on performance improvements, bug fixing, and subtle design tweaks than on big new features.
Gurman compares the plan to macOS X Snow Leopard, where Apple prioritized stability and polish instead of pushing major additions. This comes after iOS 26 introduced larger changes, and iOS 27 now looks set to smooth out the rough edges that users still complain about (including UI and stability issues).
