TL; DR
- Apple’s smart home hub, new HomePod mini, and Apple TV 4K are tipped for October 13.
- A separate wave of Mac launches, including an OLED MacBook Pro, is expected in late October.
- The Mac Studio’s M5 Ultra configuration with 512GB RAM also arrives late this month.
Apple just wrapped its September event, and honestly, it was a rollercoaster for the giant. While the iPhone 18 Pro (review) unveiling went quite well, reports about users facing Face ID-related issues on the latest iPhones started surfacing a few weeks later. Apple has already released iOS 27.0.1 to fix them, but buyers aren’t entirely satisfied with the update.

Instead of taking a breather to fix things, Apple might reportedly stack October with two distinct rounds of announcements. If this plays out as Bloomberg and MacRumors describe, two very renowned sources, Apple fans won’t have a quiet week for the rest of 2026.

Apple’s October Event: What’s Landing, And When

| October 23 | iPhone Duo (foldable) |
| Final week of October | OLED “MacBook Ultra,” base M6 14-inch MacBook Pro, M6 iMac |
| Late October | Mac Studio with M5 Ultra, up to 512GB RAM |

The Smart Home Hub Finally Gets Its Moment
This, I’d say, is the product that deserves the most attention, only because it has been a part of the rumor mill for more years than I can remember. The hub is tipped to run a 6-inch square display in a tabletop device with speakers at the base. It could also come in wall-mounted versions, weaving together smart home controls, FaceTime, photo viewing, and widgets.
However, the smart hub’s software experience will be built around Siri AI, Apple’s new conversational AI assistant that can do a lot more without active user intervention.

The HomePod mini and Apple TV 4K refreshes sound more modest. The devices could keep their existing shapes while picking up newer chips and Apple’s N1 wireless chip. I think these changes are there to support Apple Intelligence rather than make any distinct headlines.
The second wave is where things get genuinely interesting. An OLED MacBook Pro, nicknamed “MacBook Ultra” in some reports, is tipped to be noticeably thinner and lighter than today’s model. It could launch alongside a more affordable M6-powered 14-inch MacBook Pro and a refreshed iMac.

The Mac Studio’s new top configuration, 512GB of RAM paired with an M5 Ultra chip, is squarely aimed at professionals running workloads most of us will never touch.

I think Apple would actually spread these across two separate weeks. Splitting the calendar actually gives the smart home hub, a genuinely long-awaited product, room to be the main story on its own day instead of a footnote.
The company has also done something similar with its September iPhone event: the iPhone 18 Pro is available right now, while the regular iPhone 18 won’t arrive until early next year.
