Coolpad just announced that it has sold over 5 Lakh Coolpad Note 3 (Full Review) Lite units in India, and is celebrating this success by offering a new limited-edition Gold variant for 7,499 INR (as against 6,999 INR which you have to shell out for the conventional white model).
The secret ingredient in Coolpad’s success formula is a Fingerprint sensor that actually works like it should. The company first cashed in on this advantage with the Note 3, and later replicated this success in a lesser price bracket.
Domestic manufacturers are still playing catch-up, and save for Intex, we still don’t have anyone else claiming biometric unlock at a lower price point. We reviewed Coolpad Note 3 Lite a while back and found it a little underwhelming in light of its towering spec-sheet.
Here is what Syed Tajuddin, CEO, Coolpad India had to say:
From the time Coolpad Note 3 Lite was launched, this power- packed smartphone has received phenomenal response due to its power- packed features. Note 3 Lite was launched exclusively for Indian market reiterating our commitment. To mark the occasion of selling 5 lakh units in less than 6 months, we unveiled the limited gold edition of Note 3 Lite. This new variant is our way of thanking our esteemed customers for the immense support.”
