Samsung Galaxy S7 Active With Shatter Resistant Display launched In US

Samsung has introduced a toughened variant of Galaxy S7 in the United States. It has been named as Galaxy S7 Active. Samsung has exclusively tied up with AT&T and its shipping starts on Friday. It will be available in Sandy Gold, Titanium Grey, and Camo Green colours. Samsung has priced it at approx. $799 dollars which translate around to Rs. 53,000.

This is not the first time AT&T and Samsung have partnered to launch an Active variant of Galaxy S7.  Ever since Samsung Galaxy S4, the Korean giant and AT&T together also launched Galaxy S4 Active and followed by Galaxy S5 Active and S6 Active. The Active variant has shutter resistant property and can withstand drops from up to 5 feet height. It comes with IP68 protection which means Galaxy S7 Active is also resistant to dust and water. It can also hold up in water up to 5 feet.

In terms of specification, the Galaxy S7 Active, houses a 5.1-inch Super AMOLED display with QHD resolution. It features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset coupled with 4GB of RAM. It has a 32GB of on-board storage which is expandable up to 200GB.

The phone comes with 4000mAh battery which as per company claim can offer 32 hours of talk time and can refill from zero to hundred in two hours. In optics, It bears a 12-megapixel primary camera which is less with dual pixel technology and up front, it features a 5-megapixel camera for selfie.
