Samsung has launched the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra and Galaxy Tab S12+, its latest flagship Android tablets, in global markets. Both models use MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500 chipset and run Android 17 with One UI 9, while Samsung has kept the AMOLED displays, S Pen support, and large batteries that have become standard on its premium tablet lineup.
Samsung Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra
The Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra is the larger model in Samsung’s new tablet lineup. It has a 14.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with a 2960 x 1848 resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The panel reaches up to 1,600 nits peak brightness.
The tablet packs an 11,600mAh battery with support for 45W wired charging. Samsung has kept the battery capacity and display resolution unchanged from the Tab S11 Ultra.
The Ultra measures 5.1mm thick and weighs 692g. Samsung is calling it its thinnest Galaxy Tab, although the Tab S11 Ultra also measured 5.1mm. It comes in Gray and Silver and includes an S Pen in the box.
For cameras, there is a 13MP main camera alongside an 8MP ultrawide camera on the back. A 12MP ultrawide camera handles selfies and video calls.
Samsung Galaxy Tab S12+
The Galaxy Tab S12+ has a smaller 12.6-inch AMOLED display with a 2800 x 1752 resolution. Samsung has paired it with a 10,600mAh battery, while charging remains at 45W.
The S12+ has a simpler camera setup with a 13MP rear camera. It also gets the same 12MP ultrawide front camera as the Ultra. Both tablets support the S Pen and have a microSD card slot that supports up to 2TB of additional storage.
Dimensity 9500 and One UI 9
Samsung claims the new chip has a 61% faster NPU, 19% faster CPU, and 17% faster GPU compared with the Dimensity 9400+ used in the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra.
The software includes Samsung’s latest Galaxy AI features. Multi Window can divide the display into up to three sections, while Note Assist can summarize notes captured with the S Pen. Samsung Browser can also summarize content across multiple open tabs.
Both tablets run on MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500 chipset and ship with Android 17 and One UI 9. Samsung is promising seven years of OS and security updates for both tablets.
Photoshop Comes Pre-Installed
Samsung has partnered with Adobe to bring Photoshop pre-installed on the Galaxy Tab S12 series. The company says this is the first Android tablet to ship with Photoshop out of the box.
The app includes Adobe Firefly-powered Generative Fill and Image to Video tools. Samsung is also including four months of the Photoshop mobile plan.
The tablets come with other software offers as well, including a six-month trial of Google AI Pro and Gemini Notebook. Buyers also get discounted or free trials for Notability, Goodnotes, LumaFusion, Notion, and Clip Studio Paint.
Storage and Connectivity
The Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra starts with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. Samsung will also sell a 12GB + 512GB version. The 16GB + 1TB configuration mentioned for the global model is not listed among the India variants.
The Tab S12+ starts at 12GB + 256GB, with a 12GB + 512GB option also available. Both tablets support microSD cards with up to 2TB of additional storage.
The Wi-Fi and 5G versions have separate pricing in India. The Tab S12 Ultra and Tab S12+ both support Bluetooth 6.0, while the Ultra supports Wi-Fi 7 and the S12+ gets Wi-Fi 6E.

The Galaxy Tab S12+ starts at ₹1,29,999 for the Wi-Fi model with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage.
