Asus has scheduled the global launch event of its Zenfone 8 series for May 12. The company is expected to introduce three models in the lineup including Zenfone 8, Zenfone 8 Mini, and Zenfone 8 Pro. Out of the three, the Asus Zenfone 8 Mini has reportedly received BIS certification in India suggesting its arrival in the country.
Asus has been posting a number of teaser videos on Twitter dropping hints of the Zenfone 8 series specs. Going by the same, the phone is confirmed to boast a smooth display with a left cornered punch-hole, IP68 certification, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The phone is also expected to feature Snapdragon 888 chipset.
A Twitter tipster with handle _the_tech_guy has claimed to discover Asus Zenfone 8 Mini on India’s BIS certification with a model name ASUS_I006D. There are a few other leaks and revelations that suggest detailed specs of Asus Zenfone 8 Mini.
Asus Zenfone 8 Mini Expected Features
The Asus Zenfone 8 Mini has been sighted on Geekbench with Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 5G mobile platform with 12GB RAM running on Android 11. The phone is said to sport a 5.9-inch OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. XDA Developers have reported the phone with a 64MP Sony IMX686 camera along with an assisting IMX663 sensor.
For those who don’t know, last year’s Asus Zenfone 7, the predecessor of Zenfone 8, was not launched in India.
