Asus continues the flip camera setup on its newly announced Zenfone 7 series. This time, there is a Pro edition phone with a slightly different processor and memory configuration from the regular model. Besides that, both phones sport triple cameras (within that flip), 90Hz AMOLED panel, and a faster 30W charging.

Let’s see what’s different between both phones and what’s the third new camera, amongst other things.

Zenfone 7 series Flip Cameras

A highlight feature of the Zenfone 7 will be that flip module which doubles as the camera solution for both rear and front.

Asus claims to have improved upon the precursor’s motorized mechanism. The new motor is said to be smaller with more than double the torque. Even its attachment to the main body has been apparently strengthened. As such, it can bear weight up to 35 kgs and is rated to outlast 200,000 flips, which is about 100 flips a day for 5 years straight.

Beyond the mechanism, the camera features are as following:

The primary camera is a 64MP Sony IMX686 sensor with 2×1 OCL (On-chip lens) autofocus and OIS. It is also capable of better night mode photos, 8K videos at 30 fps, 4k at 120 fps slow-mo, and HDR goodness. Next up, there is the new 3x telephoto zoom camera, which also features OIS. (Mind you, only the pro model facilitates image stabilization on both these lenses.) Finally, we have the 113° 12MP ultrawide shooter with Dual Pixel AF. You get to shoot 4K stabilized videos and macro shots (within a 4cm radius).
