Update 4-03-1016: Xiaomi has officially introduced the new Redmi Note 3 in India. Read our hands on review for more.
After a stagnant 2015, Xiaomi is ready to make some noise which Mi Fans in India have been desperately craving for. The company today announced that they will soon bring in Redmi Note 3 in India, which was recently launched (late November, 2015) in China.
Since Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Pro has already launched in China and considering Xiaomi’s ongoing feud with Ericsson over patents in MediaTek powered handsets, Xiaomi might bring its Pro variant to India.
Last month the company shortchanged Indian fanbase with Redmi Note Prime, an incremental update to the dated Redmi Note, which was consequently followed by social media unrest. The new Redmi Note 3 comes in for damage control.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 is the next premium Note which comes with a metallic build, fingerprint sensor, 5.5 Inch full HD display, powerful hardware specifications and the latest MIUI 7 software (based on Android Lollipop).
Since Le 1S arrival is still not official, this is perhaps the first Helio X10 powered smartphone announced for India. The 2.0 GHz octa-core chipset is further assisted by 2GB/ 3GB RAM depending on the storage variant you choose (16GB/32GB). It remains to be seen which variant Xiaomi will bring in.
Other features include 16MP rear camera with phase detect autofocus, dual-LED dual-tone flash and 5MP front-facing camera, both of which can record 1080p videos, IR Port, 4G LTE, and 4000 mAh battery.
The new Redmi Note 3 is coming in time to give Lenovo K4 Note a tough fight.
