The new 2024 Tata Altroz has gone through some great changes now and thus, it is ready to give a challenging fight to its counterparts such as Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Toyota Glanza, and Hyundai i20 in the premium hatchback segment. These changes include the additive, modifying, and deleting of a model or specific type of powertrain.

2024 Tata Altroz New Features

Inspired by the upcoming Altroz Racer, Tata has introduced four new trim levels with a LUX suffix: It is speculated that some of these include XZ LUX, XZ+ S LUX, XZ+ S LUX Dark, and a fourth trim which could be XZ LUX Dark. It has several colors that come with the 2024 Altroz, they include Avenue White, Arcade Grey, Opera Blue, Downtown Red and Cosmo Dark.

The tweaks come in the form of new features especially in the LUX trims which are considered premium now in the updated Altroz. It also comes with an option of the 10.25-inch touchscreen system that supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay besides having an 8-speaker of the Harman sound system. Other features that are included in the LUX variants include; 360-degree camera for the convenience and safety of the vehicle.

Inspired by the Altroz Racer, the new 2024 Altroz continues with the seven-inch TFT cluster as standard equipment for the XZ+ S and XZ+ S LUX trims. The top-end XZ+S LUX trim takes this equation slightly further and comes equipped with six airbags, a feature that is new to the Altroz. However, what must be stated is that only the XZ+ S LUX comes with 6 airbags, it is the top-of-the-line model.

The update comes with some compromises though as Tata has removed some options from the Altroz’s roster. The i-Turbo variants have been phased out, similar to the Hyundai i20 N Line’s displacement strategy. Further, they have discontinued the Dark Edition of the Altroz i-CNG variant while the leatherette seats have been withdrawn from the regular variants excluding the Altroz Racer variant.

In terms of powertrains, the 2024 Altroz now offers three options: a 1. 2L NA Petrol a 1. 2L NA i-CNG,  and a 1.5L Diesel Engine. The second generation of the Altroz is expected to be launched soon along with the new variants and the price difference is likely to be a little higher now. These updates clearly mark the strategic direction of Tata towards providing a well-equipped and offering in the premium hatchback segment.
