Tata Motors has recently provided its audience with a sneak peek of the next model known as Altroz Racer that is planned to be released in the following month. This version of Tata’s premium hatchback has greater potential starting with a higher output engine, enhanced exterior appearance and interior equipment.
The teaser brings into the limelight the fact that Altroz Racer is set to come with a dual-tone orange black exterior look, which would add more elegance. Whereas on the standard Altroz available with a dual-tone finish, black trim embellishments sweep beyond the roof, wing mirrors, and window line, even encircling the pillars. The Altroz Racer would continue to be equipped with the 16-inch alloy wheels offered in the base model but the design language appears more sportier.

Earlier spy photos have suggested that white racing stripes could be painted on the bonnet, like in the concept that was revealed at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2024 event. Further, changes such as ‘Racer’ badges and a new grille are also expected for the Altroz Racer on the outside.
As for the interior, cosmetic changes are envisions to reflect the exterior treatments, for example on the dashboard an d seats. They intend to make the brand of the Altroz Racer even more premium by adding new features. Some of these are; features include a 25-inch touchscreen, segment-first ventilated front seats, 360-degree camera, a heads-up-display and a voice-activated sunroof, which not only increases the comfort level of passengers but also adds to the ease of use.

On the mechanical side, Altroz Racer replaces the regular iTurbo’s 110-horsepower output with the Nexon’s 120-horsepower mill, 1.2-liter turbo petrol engine with an extension of a further 10hp and 30Nm of torque. Doing so places the EVi priced against rivals like the Hyundai i20 N Line that comes with a 1.0-liter turbo-petrol unit delivering 120 hp and 172 Nm of torque. The engine power could be transmitted through a 6-speed manual gearbox only based on available estimations.
In so far as the price is concerned, the Altroz Racer may cost even more than the iTurbo version and hover in the range of Rs 9.20 lakh and Rs 10.10 Lakh respectively and rolled out in the urban areas of India in 2008. This puts it in direct rivalry with the Hyundai i20 N Line that is available from Rs 10 lakhs for the manual models and Rs 11.15 lakh for automatic trims. Also, we have the Maruti Fronx and Toyota Taisor models: Both the vehicles come with 100hp, 1.0-liter turbo-petrol engines, will compete in the segment with automobiles charging at the same price range.
Overall, the Tata Altroz Racer is a vehicle that incorporates both thrilling performance improvements and eye-catching design elements for fans wanting to get the most out of their chosen car model in the premium segment.
