Like other models in the segment, the vivo Y18t features a water-drop notch at the front, with relatively thicker bezels than what we’ve seen on mid-range smartphones and an even thicker bottom bezel. The phone’s rear panel is clean: it only contains the two camera sensors in separate housings, along with an LED flash module and the company’s branding at the bottom left corner.

Interestingly, the vivo Y18t has an official IP54 rating, instilling confidence in its build quality. Last but not least, the phone is available in two colors: Space Black and Gem Green.

vivo Y18t Specifications And Key Features

Out of the box, the vivo Y18t ships with a 6.56-inch HD+ LCD screen that supports 90Hz refresh rate and  1,612 × 720 pixels resolution (with 296 ppi). The screen’s peak brightness is limited to 840 nits.

Under the hood, the vivo Y18t runs on the Unisoc T612 chipset (over two years old). The processor is based on 12nm fabrication technology and features two Cortex-A75 cores clocked at 1.8GHz and six Cortex-A55 cores at 1.8GHz. In addition, the Unisoc chipset is combined with 4GB of LPDDR4X RAM (extendable up to 8GB) and 128GB of eMMC 5.1 storage (expandable via microSD card).

The handset features a dual-rear camera setup, including a 50MP (f/1.8) primary sensor and a 0.08MP (f/3.0) secondary sensor, perhaps for depth sensing. On the front, users get an 8MP (f/2.0) shooter for capturing selfies or attending video calls. The primary camera includes scene modes like night, portrait, pano, documents, pro, Live Photo, and 50MP mode.

vivo Y18t Specifications And Key Features

Powering the handset is a 5,000 mAh battery that supports 15W wired charging. Unfortunately, the phone doesn’t ship with a charger in the box. Connectivity features on the smartphone include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v5.2, GPS, GLONASS, and a USB Type-C port. It is important to mention that the phone doesn’t support 5G cellular connectivity.

Given that there are plenty of models that support the technology, the Redmi 13C 5G or the Samsung Galaxy A14 5G, it is a bit odd that vivo hasn’t included the feature on a new smartphone. Nonetheless, buyers get a fingerprint sensor (side-mounted) for enhanced security.
