This year Asus launched quite a few interesting phones, but the focus was mostly on offering maximum value at a specific price point. If recent patents filed by the company are to be proved, Asus could be trying something bold very soon. According to Lets Go Digital, they have patented pop-up selfie camera and phoines with in-display camera hole, which could make it to 2019 Zenfones.

Like Samsung and Vivo, it seems Asus is also moving away from the notched displays. The pop-up module looks similar to the motorized solution in Vivo Nex. But, as per the revealed images, there seem to be taking the approach of three different formats.

So, there would be a thin module for the front camera, a second one that is a bit wide which can accommodate more than one selfie camera and finally, a third model featuring a wider module which can possibly accommodate multiple and advanced sensors for 3D face detection.

From the above illustrations of another screen, we could also see that there would be an in-display camera and front-facing speaker grill within the thin bezels at the top. The front camera would be placed at the top-left corner of the display.

These could be part of the rumored Zenfone 6, which would be launched by the Taiwanese company in the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2019.
